Okay, might as well do this. I live basically surrounded by corn fields and I took agricultural classes for 2 years. I go to farm shows yearly to get out of the house and the people are terrible. It is horrible. Ask whatever the fuck you want and I'll try to answer it. We have some extreme lolcow things too if anyone is interested in that.

I live in Ohio and I'll try to answer any questions too.

There's a cornfield across the street but most of the farmers in my town have sold their land to the real estate developers so there aren't as many farms as when I moved here 17 years ago.

Where does Cowlick live anyway? It's not like I'm going to run into him on the street.

Uhh I can answer questions I guess

But I live in the suburbs 40 minutes from a major metropolitan area so I probably can't answer anything about farming or most of the questions, really

Last I checked unemployment is pretty high, but lower than the national average. Those were the stats for 2012, I think.

The capital, Columbus, is doing pretty well because of the government, university, etc. and it's not a rust belt city. Cleveland is recovering I think due to the healthcare industry although it's still pretty bad. I believe Cincinnati is okay, but I'm not 100% sure. Somebody who knows what they're talking about should answer this.

I think it started as a running joke like how everyone says New Jersey is a shithole, and people started seriously believing that. That and Cleveland has a reputation as the country's laughingstock even though it's not as bad now.

I don't think most people who aren't from there think anything about Ohio, really. It's just there.

Anyway, I've come away from the experience with the impression that in between the high sales taxes and the sheer number of state police cruisers on the highways, that Ohio is a fascist state. How true is this impression.

uhh no. I never noticed there being a ton of police cruisers. The sales tax is a touch high, but California and Texas have higher ones.
