These pheasant boots are the only shoes in this category that I actually kind of like

These shoes range from kind of awesome to kind of horrifying, but the elephant's foot x-ray shoes look like the winner of some kind of world's most uncomfortable shoe competetion.

Pretty crazy when the most reasonable pair of boots has a set of literal bird wings on them.
Speaking of boots, my hippie ass has discovered the brand Old Gringo.
Stupid expensive cowboy boots with embroidery/etc. on them.

I spent an unreasonable amount of money on these. I used to laugh at women who paid this much for shoes that had no specific benefits. Now I have become that woman. My credit cards weep.

Those are some badass boots. I started to look at the brand "$250 isn't out of line for a handmade boot, I've paid that much for good work boots. Holy fuck $700?!" I'd be worried about ruining them just by walking around. is it possible buy shoe insurance like a cell phone?

Part of the reason I don't want pricey heels is that they seem so damageable. Scuffs, scrapes, I trip like a clumsy ass and break the heel, etc. You wouldn't catch me dead in Louboutins. Mr Polexio wanted to buy me some for a long time and i always talked him down from it.

But these boots at least seem sturdy and solid. I don't really do a whole lot that could damage a cowboy boot unless I wear them on the motorcycle and get sloppy. I obviously wouldn't wear them in the rain or mud, I do have good boots that I can be a bit rougher with. So we'll see.

Lesson learned for me. That beautiful, shiny seductive red on the bottom of those spiky torture devices comes off the first time they touch a sidewalk. Keep them in the bedroom or buy knockoffs. Expensive shoes is something I've completely given up on. The extra 2 or 3 years a name brand gives you in the harsh climate I live in is not worth it.

One of my favorite shoes in my early twenties was these shoes, called the Hellraisers.

IMG_2518.jpg

They just fit my egdy summer goth aesthetic phase and were suede versions were surprisingly comfy. Plus, everyone gave me compliments AND didn't have to look at my fucked up face.

I was low key devastated when they finally wore out on me. I wish I bought 10 pairs of these shoes. (:_(

He bought me those tie dye heels I posted way back in the thread and they have designs on the sole, so I went to look for sole protector stickers to preserve the design (joke is on me, I can't walk in them anyway). The stickers were designed for Louboutins, but in the various advice threads I read about preserving sole designs, women were bringing up that the red is apparently supposed to come off in accordance with the original intent of the designer. "A woman should leave a kiss everywhere she steps" or some bullshit like that.

I was like...so you buy a shoe that's worth a little less than my monthly rent, and it's meant to degrade dramatically in one wear?! You can buy touch-up paint and stuff but apparently that's kind of frowned upon since the red could also be used to paint your own "knockoffs".

It's like the ultimate flex shoe for ladies.

Looking for advice: I'd like to buy a pair of creepers and I never owned a pair before. Any advice on what to look for or recommendations?

Edit: I've tried them on in stores before, I adore their clunkiness, so that's not a problem. I'm an americunt who rather not pay international shipping if anyone has any store recommendations, but will do it if the shoe is that good.

TUK is my go-to brand. Dollskill has a variety of creepers there that go on sale. Most creepers have a narrow toe, so if your feet are broad like mine, I'd recommend sizing up.

Don't listen to any of these ignorant broads. If you're going to buy a good shoe invest money into them. George Cox invented the brothel creeper. https://www.georgecox.co.uk/women

Excuse you, I may be ignorant, but I'm still a classy broad. :tomgirl:

They specified that they would rather not pay international shipping fees. The creepers I've owned from TUK are in admirable condition despite me wearing it to hell and back. But I didn't know George Cox was the original creator of the creeper. My American ass should take a look.
