On Jace and the WWE -

Since Jace being mind-poppingly stupid about weapons and everything else is assigned to here I guess this should belong here as well.

Not even getting into elitist douchebag "WWE is a circus not the classical performance art of wrasslin" argument, does Jace honestly know a damn thing about professional wrestling?

I get the impression he thinks John Cena's finishing move is called the "super slam" which makes me wonder if he actually watches the boxed set of WWE matches he bragged to @FlyAwayNow about having. The fact his livestreams were usually the same time as Monday Night Raw adds evidence to that. When I asked him how Brock Lesnar was able to absolutely squash Cena a few months ago, he said Lesnar was cheating by using "MMA techniques" against Cena's "wrestling moves" when the match was basically just Brock Lesnar doing German Suplexes, so it seems he doesn't even watch heavily-promoted matches featuring his hero, let alone anything else.

He must literally never watch anything they put on if he doesn't know about it.

I'm going to have to agree that Jace absolutely does not watch WWE on a regular basis. He seems to only know of CM Punk (now retired), Batista (On again off again), Lesnar (Current champion, not on regular shows) and of course Cena and he only knows the other three as they've feuded with Cena. I'm sure Jace would not be able to comment on any other storylines let alone name any midcard wrestlers. If he does indeed watch, it's likely online and only for segments and matches of Cena.

I think what bothers me most is Jace doesn't even know the names of any moves. If I recall he doesn't know the actual name of any of Cena's finishers and definitely not their technical terms. Every time he sees some fancy moves he just declares they're "WWE moves". No clotheslines, suplexes, DDTs, piledrivers or submissions but maybe I'm giving him too much credit. The guy would call a hurricanrana "sick parkour".

On the topic of Cena vs. Batista, I'm going to assume he means the match at Wrestlemania 26. However there is the I Quit match at Over the Limit 2010 and their Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules 2010. But the way Eli says he saw him get a boner over it, it could be ANY match on RAW. Even though he says he knows that match like the back of his hand, I doubt this.

I believe Jace just thinks of WWE as something cool to bring up every now and then. He's not actually into it. He knows it exists and he's seen it a couple of times and think it's something to prove his totally rad side to make him interesting. Maybe he sees and idol in Cena after watching The Marine but there's no way he became a fan of Cena from wrestling. It's simply not a passion he follows. If he did the least he could do is know Cena's five moves of doom. Asking him to look into his thuganomics gimmick, other feuds or even other wrestlers is just too much. It makes me a little sad that he isn't into wrestling more, I'd love to see Tyce, Eli and Jace invade a local yardtard that tries too hard to be CZW.

Everything you listed is why he's clearly into Cena. He's the ultimate good guy, he's a "marine", talks smack about his enemies and ultimately over comes ALL THE ODDS. He's also always better than his haters and can do no wrong. I still think we don't know enough to get into Cena is a father figure discussion or a romantic interest (I doubt this but with our new information who knows).

He likely sees Bryan as the goat faced yes man that heels portray him as and to be honest Bryan doesn't have the ideal look, granted this makes him the ultimate underdog that we love but to Jace he's not heroic in the typical sense. The same can be said for Ziggler.

Dean is too much of a bad boy for Jace. Plus I think he wants to be as distant from the "crazy/unstable" label as possible. Jace wants to be the hero of the story. Not the downridden, street rat who'll destroy anything it comes into contact with.

I don't think Jace understands character development. Just look at Commander Stryker. Jace has a very childish look into the world. It makes sense that he clings to the wrestler catered to children.

I think it's just "Cena = good. Therefore WWE = good because WWE = Cena."

And yeah, it seems like Jace should really like wrasslin. Maybe I'm just projecting because watching him stream him watching wrestling sounds interesting to me. I'd like to see Jace get massively pissed at Evil Islam or somebody.

It's amazing how much fake stuff comes up in Jace's life: wrestling, video games, airsoft guns, Jace being a Marine, and so on.

Also, I'm with @TheOneMrBlonde in thinking Jace saw the Marine and that's where he became a John Cena fan and where he got all his misconceptions of Cena actually being in the Armed Forces. He doesn't seem to know jack shit about John Cena as is evident in Jace not knowing Cena is OK with gay men being pro wrestlers.

Has anyone probed Jace about wrestling being fake? I'm positive he believes it's real, but I wonder how much he would chimp out if someone started saying wrestling is fake.
