These guys. One hit, one album wonder.

These guys apparently had four albums. Nobody remembers anything but this, though.

This is the one I think of right now.

I think Black (Colin Vearncombe) is severely underrated; his album Are We Having Fun Yet? is even better, but didn't chart at all.

The Assembly (one of the many outfits of Vince Clarke) released only one song -- and it stuck.

Amplified Hearts and Walking Wounded are great albums too. Also, they have like 10+ years of albums before the hit.

I've heard a parody version of this that's about One Hit Wonders, but am having trouble finding it.

EDIT: Just remembered it was an early ToddintheShadows bit. That's disappointing...

I was going to say they also had this.

But then, it's actually The Sweet. It was written by Mike Chapman, who produced the original Get the Knack album, hence the similar sounds.

Perhaps The Sweet also counts as a one hit wonder. But they actually had more hits, it's just nobody remembers them, except the horrible "Love is Like Oxygen."

This weekend I randomly happened to find the name/artist of a song that's been bugging me for years. I'd hear bits of it in stores and such but never enough to figure out what it was. Now I know. And it just happens to be a one hit wonder. Decent song too.
And also I found out that that goofy generic disco song that got used a bunch in early Simpsons episodes wasn't something made up for the show. It was this group's only hit:

Marc Cohn's only hit (so far) has been "Walking in Memphis", but in fact he's been consistently putting out songs over the year. So instead of "Walking in Memphis" let me post a song that has touched me greatly.
