Holy shit did they record her scream on a voice call or something? Lmao it sounds so bad and low energy. I lost my shit from the japanese voices because it was the complete opposite.
Also one of usopps greatest feats.

Not always with the increased number of breaks but it was his tendency.

But then again the chapters are set up to usually conclude in cliffhangers, dramatic twists or awesome moments when you look at them. Part and parcel of the manga format in most cases and Oda's gotten kind of good at them over the years.

Sugar is played by Natalie Hoover who is actually Catarina Devon, so it's honestly unacceptable she sounded so shit there.

And I took a quick peek at the Episode of Sabo scene, and Sonny Strait did a better job there, too. Natalie also doesn't sound like she's on a shit microphone, either, but her scream is honestly low-energy even in that one. But it could be because it's not as long, it's like only a couple seconds.

1. Holdem A guy with a lion belly! It would be no lie to say the original intent behind adding smiles to the manga was to draw this dude!! It's based on an old Toei mecha show Oda watched in the past where the humanoid robot and lion robot fused and the lion became his chest. He loved it as a kid
2. Hamlet He's just so strange looking and basically failed creature. Yet the character is optimistic and speaks with pride. Oda just fell in love with this guy.
3. Speed Centaurs are normally depicted as muscly man, but Oda wanted to make one a big sister type sexy woman. He thinks drawing her horse feet is disgusting, so he tries to not show speed's feet, to make her seem more beautiful, yet her laugh is terrible!! That is the gap moe he wanted to create.

I suspect it's because a lot of clima tacts effects involve her being spun like a baton.

Of course it's sad, it's a One Piece character. After what Oda did with Senor Pink I assume everyone has a tragic backstory at this point. Though the question about the mother is clearly one fishing for a sad answer.
