There is an interesting philosophical conundrum that I think these people get hung up on; when, exactly, did we agree to any laws, taxes, etc.? I certainly don't remember being asked my opinion on the matter. That being said, it's really just anarchism at its heart and comes with the same baggage: if the law is a farce then nothing stops me from clubbing you over the head, taking your shit and laughing as I stroll into the sunset.

They touch on the same obsessive legalism that straightjackets boomer Republicans and Libertarians. The law is just a piece of paper unless you can enforce it. If you're confronted by the police and they have guns drawn the law is whatever the fuck they say it is, and you have no recourse.

To put it another way: Even if sovereign citizens were right, they would still go to prison because they don't have the power to resist.

I had this uncle growing up who would regularly take out small 100$-200$ loans from third-party loan companies and would purposefully never pay them back. His house was constantly called by debt collection companies, and one day I asked him why he would never pay these loans back-and he replied, "why would they (loan companies) pay a couple thousand in legal costs to recoup a 200$ loss?"

The point is, if there's a system in place for literally anything, there's always going to be someone who will try and find loopholes to take advantage of it. Why pay a speeding ticket when you can conveniently be a sovereign citizen? It's the same though process with just a lot more mental retardation added in.

Why should our Constitution apply to some foreign national? Citations to the Uniform Commercial Code are also good for a laugh. From learning about these folks I found that the UCC is a set of model laws that the States can adopt on their own. So check your local laws to find the exact language of something in the UCC.
