I'm very into psychedelic poster art because I am a stupid hippy. Peter Max is awesome.
I also like Heinz Edelmann's stuff. You might know him as the guy who did the art for the Yellow Submarine movie.

I love a lot of vintage poster and album art. I want to be able to paint posters like that someday.
This applies to most old painted movie posters, but I'm a real sucker for the vintage James Bond posters in particular:
I actually have a reprint of the lengthwise version of this one.
And then there's this. This is one of my favorite pictures, for some weird reason. Probably because it's of Pete Townshend.
This artist mostly does album art, and I think have some of the ones he's done, in particular that Elvis Costello record. Here's a screenshot of other stuff he's done off his website.
Again, someday, all I want is to be able to paint stuff like that. That's all.

Cutesexyrobutts has been scratching my itch for pinup style art these days.
Tony Guisado is pretty good as well.
Hideo Minaba still does artwork nowadays, but his style has heavily changed since Final Fantasy 9.
Wonderful art. For a downer read, the poor guy had a horrific life. Wife died, depressed son committed suicide, then he got stabbed to death by the teenage son of his caretaker when he said no to giving him a loan.
If I remember right the loan was only for like 50 bucks too.

William-Adolphe Bouguereau work has this very wholesome aesthetic that I find comforting in a sea of "art" like crucifixes in jars of urine or postmodern diarrhea blasts.

There are two artists that I love a lot.
Gashi Gashi/Uejini is generally a good artist. The art they make have good palettes
Nelnalium in my opinion is one of the greatest character designers out there. She was my main inspiration.
I even asked a commission from her. Not disappointed
