I really want to know who's the artist; love the spacesuit design here.

It was drawn by Mœbius (a.k.a. Jean Giraud). For future reference, reverse image searches (e.g. Google Images, TinEye) are great for shit like this. I've never even heard of this guy and it took me like 10 seconds to find. In some browsers you can just right click / long press an image and you'll get an option to do an image search right in the popup menu.

A lot of beautiful art in this thread. Some classic, some bizarre, some very cool but as with all art, it's beauty or meaning is different to everyone that beholds it. I have a collection of this guy's art. Some of it tortured soul, some of it hilarious. His name is DX. He does a lot of sculpture wood/stone carvings, too.

Here's a painting by Albrecht Dürer depicting Orpheus,of Greek mythology fame, being beaten to death by two women for introducing pederasty to Thrace.

05orpheu.jpg

According to some versions of the Orpheus myth, he couldn't bear to be with another woman after he failed to bring Eurydice back to life, and so turned to little boys. Thus, according to that myth, he started the Ancient Greek tradition of pederasty. The women of Thrace grew jealous and tore him to pieces during a bacchanal.

The ribbon above Orpheus says "Orfeus der erst puseran" (Orpheus, the first pederast).
