You're not wrong there. I had heard of him through standup circles but have never seen a single thing he did for hollywood. The guy is a talentless fucking retard. He hit the jackpot when he made those trans kids tweets, and because Republicans are so desperate for anyone from Hollywood to like them, he immediately made the rounds of right wing shows, getting a new career of sorts. Then of course, he used words you can't use and became unacceptable to Republicans, so he went full on conspiracy and hooked up with Vox, who for all his issues, sure knows how to keep the money flowing. To me it's a toss up if he really is that way, or it's just a way to get attention and money.

it's been months since I've followed the Owen Benjamin situation closely - is his son still a potato? (second son, want to say name is Charlie, is three years old or close and is so far non-verbal except for babble).
Still nonverbal. I don't think Owen is going to get him some help. I remember him saying that he would love to have a child that's autistic because they follow directions well and love doing manual labor. Charlie is probably on the autism spectrum, but we can't know for sure without a professional diagnosis. Owen is not going to send Charlie to the doctor so that kid is already developmentally fucked.
And just dwelling on that; I'd prefer that Owen's neglect of his children is because he is stupid, but he may have wanted to keep Charlie as he is because he'd love a simple servant who can do all the homesteading work.

Also just to clarify, Owen doesn't live in Gig Harbor anymore. He's out in north Idaho now, not far from where the Ruby Ridge incident went down. This stalker apparently went from Bellingham (~3 hours north of Gig Harbor, near the Canadian border) out to Sandpoint, ID, which is about a 7 hour drive, and the closest city to Owen's compound.
