As someone in that age bracket... yeah, it’s obvious nostalgia bait, the only thing these media companies have left over originality.

Wasn't this the last nick sitcom most people liked? I stopped watching tv around this point so maybe I'm biased. Cast still looks really weird to me, I think it's cause Jerry looks the same while everyone else noticeably aged.

My theory is that there was a Paramount+ think tank meeting where they asked "What early 90's - early 10's Nickelodeon sitcom can we revive to bring in small but loyal 20-40 demographic?" and it came down to actors.
They have Cosgrove, Kress, and Trainor back as part of the main cast and have a few side characters back as guests.

It’s the only reason that you’d ever revive a show where one of the main characters had retired from acting in her mid-20s because she hated it and no longer needed to support her mother… because she died, and another turned into a bizarre Internet shitposter that treats his time on the show with disdain.
