Rolling to strike lethally is determined by DAM against a target's HP plus their armor.

To strike nonlethally is DAM against Pain Points.

Skill checks are done as follows. Difficulty is determined by a number from 1-100. 1-10 is easiest, 91-100 is the hardest. If your skill value equals or exceeds the Difficulty, you pass the check.

Every level, you get 10 skill points and 1 perk point. I offer a selection of perks for the first poster to choose, but the second poster to respond can allocate the skill points as they decide.

You awaken in a sweat on a gurney, breathing both rapidly and heavily. While doing so, you take a look at your hands, and see that your skin is a collection of patches of skin sewn together- and scream for a good two minutes.

After regaining your composure, you take a look around the room. You see a variety of medical equipment, though you're unsure as to the purpose of them. One thing's for sure: somebody did a lot of bleeding in here.

In the corner of the room, you see a man sitting on a chair.

What now?

>Talk to the Man, see what we can find out, nigga!
>Scream some more, then talk to him!
>Just scream some more.
