I am not trying to A-log here, but from the looks of it, it's readily apparent that Chris has had very few instances where love has been directed at him apart from Borb.
I wonder if Chris is realizing that his lack of compassion, empathy, and good hygiene practices have robbed him of the ability to experience love from within (giving love) and without (love from others), so he is trying to slap the term "LOVE" on everything in a fevered attempt to obtain the elusive, ephemeral human experience.
The dilemma arises from the simple truth that love does not work the way Chris has romanticized it in his brain. As in, "I'm just going to say the word love, and everyone's going to give me their love along with free stuff and monies for more breast forms...oh, and some nifty, female vaginas."
He might as well just write light novels at this point.
