So I've been following this Facebook group out of a random invitation POC Cosplayers(:powerlevel:needless to say I'm not white myself, otherwise I'd not be welcome in the group:powerlevel:) and since last year or so, a user posts a cosplay picture with someone wearing dark makeup, they all get salty and sperg a shit ton of autistic reply pics followed by "dis be racist ya'll we dindu nuffin!".

The first example that I spotted in the past was when someone posted Candy's Cosplay and Art's picture of her cosplay as Michonne as a PA request post, and they all spammed her page calling her racist, etc.
Anyone that called them out among the group got called a Coon and got banned instantly. Sadly I was unable to get screencaps of the drama, as it occurred long before I joined this site. But here's a link to more info about the cosplayer and her costume itself: https://popcultureuncovered.com/201...y-blackface-and-some-of-the-fallacies-within/

Now on the the meat and potatoes of this OP, here's examples that I managed to catch for your laughing pleasure of how exceptional these folks are, they also sperg about whitewashing too, enjoy!

This one I'm singling out cause it had one actual funny reply, the rest was just
image replies and other autistic crap.

Should more posts like these emerge, I'll try to catch them and update this thread with them.
Edit: the pinned post of the group, it seems the admins are kinda fed up with the drama:
November 9th Admin Notice:
The admins just wanted to touch on something with all of you in regards to what happened last night and what's happening for the foreseeable future;

This isn't the post to play the blame game. I just wanted to focus on the fact that we are POC Cosplayers and this is our space. Don't let anyone take that from you. We carved this space out for us to come together, to share, learn, and most of all love each other. It doesn't matter what squabbles and beef we have at the end of the day, no pun intended, we are all in the same boat. And that makes us family. We have each other and this space for a very strategic reason; to lift our spirits. And I believe we've been succeeding at our mission. No matter what is going on on the outside, this is the place for us to build ourselves back up in order to keep moving forward.

Let me be specific for the newer people. This is not just some Facebook group. We are a real living and breathing community, this group is just the virtual meeting place for it. Whether it be at a convention, a meetup, or just hanging out with friends you've made in the community, we are all a part of something that, for all intents and purposes, is tangible. I say this to reinforce the fact that we are here for you in these trying times. Through our cosplaying, community and unity we'll show the bigots of the world that they are beneath us. We'll show the oppressors of the world that they cannot break us. It may feel like we're about to slip backwards but just know that this train is bound for glory and through our positivity, consciousness, and love we'll progress. All of us. Our black members will progress. Our Latinx members will progress. Our Asian, Native, Middle Eastern, LGBT+, Older, Younger, whatever, all our members will progress because that is who we are and that is what we do. We move forward. Forward. Always.

Keep your heads up, fam.

get. out.
I'm atleast half white though. ;)

Prob better off in Community Watch :v
I thought about that, but it's kind of a mix bag, not all the posts are like the ones I'm showing, they do post some (debatable) good things.

Now for an update: They seem to have participated in a witchhunt on a korean cosplayer named Kim Pion cause she bronzed herself for an Overwatch cosplay of the character Sombra, here's a recent article about the situation http://heatst.com/gaming/witch-hunt-korean-cosplayer-brownface-costume/ so it would seem that when they run out ofevil privileged whitey cosplayers, they go after foreigners. I found a screen cap they posted in the group about the situation and got some comments:

And here's one on the Cultural Appropriation subject, it's surprising that the person that put the sticker on didn't mace an employee of the costume store.

And of course as you can see, they want drama, based on just this comment alone.

They're still salty over the Korean girl for bronzing, I'm pretty certain people use tanning beds and spray tans for body building but I guess costume is where the line is drawn these days, better stay out of the sun whitey, cause that's gonna be racist too I guess.

Edited for spelling.

That comment about comparing this to colonization though...

I do wonder what their views on cosplaying characters that do not have human skin colors. Is that considered green/blue/*skintone color of said character* washing to them too?

They often post cosplay of those colors ironically, I guess it's cause there's no living race with said skin tones, but if there was they'd likely not do it.

I've seen people freak out on cosplayers of Steven Universe characters with weird skin colors because the characters they're portraying are supposedly "coded" as one race or another. Some girl wore red body paint to go as Ruby and someone chimped because she's "a black coded character."

Why would the Korean cosplayer even know it was an issue? I'm pretty sure that's not a thing there.
I'd like to see Japanese people getting salty and berating American cosplayers for being too fat and perverting their waifus.
Actually that would be really funny.
I'm not really sure why cosplayers don't just ignore them more. What the fuck are they gonna do, not look at your cosplay any more? The people that make money from cosplay make it from thirsty neckbeards who don't give a shit about this kind of thing
There were a few cosplayers in the past who did this and just ignore the shrieking morons because seriously.

When it comes to body painting, I have the mentality of "all of it's okay, or none of it is" but if I said that to any of these folks, there'd be a cyber lynch mob on my FB account.

And the saltyness continues:

Kim didn't even paint herself black, but this sperg is screaming blackface.

These SJW speds are really putting me to work on this thread, they started a witch hunt on Daisy Cosplay, notice how the OP admits to feeling salty bitchy and indirectly admits starting a witch hunt.
POCcosp11.png

But fortunately enough they screen capped the entire witch hunt and saved me that task. Gonna spoiler and thumbnail it so this isn't too big a post.

And the comments section of this post is summed up with just this one screencap, they are very closed minded on the subject as you can see.
