I would prefer to keep the fulfillment cheap so people actually want to go through with it. Barring that, I need to actually know what to plug into the commerce platform so they can calculate shipping.
I'll be placing an order from the US and am willing to pay for higher than cost shipping if it means cheaper shipping for K Farmers in other countries. If this is a common opinion held do you think you could average out the cost across countries? This is of course assuming you get the shipping details of all the purchase orders prior to minting.

@Mr.Logistics is giving good advice. Might be more formal than necessary on this occasion but it's spot on.

I'm ex-supply chain (CN/EU/US). Personally, I'd look at having the factory split into 3 and ship to forwarders/fulfillers in the US, Oz and EU (Belgium or Netherlands likely).

You can ship to trusted individuals rather than forwarders, which will save a fortune but obviously comes with its own concerns.

Just watched the Livestream (12:47). @Null why the fuck are they claiming that they minted a Canadian Silver Maple? I think you need to relook at the company you are working with.

I haven't seen the reverse side, the part of a silver maple that actually claims to be legal tender. But if it's accurate to the real thing, wouldn't that be counterfeit? I remember a while back some silver pouring hobbyist got done for selling coins stamped as if they were good for USD, and he wasn't even imitating any real minted coin.

I have a 250g silver bar on my desk that says £10 on it. I don't think it's a trick.

Hey Null, be sure to have the edges of the coin to be have some sort of unique design or detail to prevent it being copied off by others. Otherwise, this might be the end of the site due to debt from doing all of this.

The Item
This will be similar to the final product. This is a 1toz(31.1g) 9999 silver, 40mm diameter, polished finish, in a coin capsule. Each order will be one of these with the following designs. The designs are completed but may change slightly when being converted to dies for the striking.

The Time
Silver demand is ridiculous right now. The wait will be up to 15 weeks. For that reason, there will probably be two runs of this. The first immediately to pay off debt related to materials, the second as we near production to make sure everyone wants it, gets it.

The Purpose
I am being sued by two people. The expenses are thousands of dollars. I also want to buy a new server for our Federated services (kiwifarms.cc / matrix.kiwifarms.net) which are laboring on an econ server I bought for like $800 two years ago. The profits from these sales will go towards those causes.

The Price
~$42.80 per coin, or $17.76 over spot.

Based off of an estimated 500 round sales, I have split the price of production by that number.

Spot Price (Locking in on ~Monday)
+ $4.30 for striking fees,
+ $0.60 for coin capsule,
+ $1.83 for die development (split),
+ $0.34 for artwork (split),
+ $0.72 for shipping (split),
+ $9.97 markup
= $17.76, or $42.80 at current spot.

If these 500 sell out, I will look at where we're at and open up again.

This does not include shipping. See below.

Payment Options
Credit / checking will be accepted.

Cryptocurrency will be accepted, but it will have to be processed manually. You will have to email/dm me your details and I will set the order for you after I receive the crypto.

I cannot start the run until I figure this out.

The cost of overseas shipping is ridiculous from the US and I want to do something different this time. I can probably ask the mint guys to split the order to two different continents. It is being produced by a group in Singapore and will be shipped from there. I have not a fucking clue how I am going to price for shipping.

As a measure of last resort I can just send the silver to a guy I know in the US who can do fulfillment. I can also ship to myself, but I'm wary of import fees. This will really eat into my margins and it will jack up the price of orders overseas. This seems kind of ridiculous too because the order is already starting out in the old world.

For the love of fucking god if you have a sensible idea for how to get these to people for less than the cost of the fucking silver I am begging you to tell me what your idea is.
Sorry if this has already been suggested, but I know shipping from China is ridiculously cheap because of whatever that postal agreement is between all countries. That's why stuff on Alibaba in America is so cheap because of how marginal the shipping costs are to them so any people who want to return the product for a refund will often have to pay more in the return shipping cost compared to the refund they'd be getting.

I guess ideally would be if they're being made in Singapore is to have someone pick them up in Singapore, fly with them to China (so that they can have someone watching over them at all times), and ship them out from China. I'm not sure how restricted or not inter-country travel is, which would throw a wrench in that plan, so I guess 2nd best option would be to have a resident of China receive the original order and then ship them from there.
DHL has a huge global footprint and might be cheaper than FedEx. I wish I had something better to tell you. But the only thing I know is some FedEx stuff. You can get in touch with a broker at FedEx Logistics but idk how that would translate to other countries. On the other hand, they may be able to help with some 3pl (third party logistics) stuff that slips through. There are a ton of ground shippers after you clear customs, but going through the local country's postal handler might be cheaper like the US. Your biggest thing is just clearing customs/duty taxes right?

I did international shipping (literally to like every single country) daily at my job and when we started, we were using FedEx "just because", but when I took over, I did research and DHL was by FAR way more affordable and often faster. Granted, what we were shipping were documents, so I don't know if that changes things, but the coins are small enough to fit into the same cardboard DHL envelopes we used. So yeah, definitely look into DHL. Just a note, though, that if you're shipping US to US, USPS will be the cheapest option often.

EDIT: Oh and apparently USPS has this thing called "ePacket" which seems tailor made for this situation. Shipments just need to be less than 4.4 lbs or 2 kgs and worth less than $400 each. The ePacket agreement is with 30 different countries (including Canada, China, Germany, France, UK, Japan, and Poland) and from what I read, this applies in both directions (so US to China or China to US): https://www.usps.com/business/international-shipping.htm

I would add that Josh needs to be careful on importing the entire shipment into the US as the current price of silver plus the 500 piece initial run would put the value at 15k which requires FINCEN and USCBP reports.

In regards to shipment, does the Suez Canal fiasco had an impact to silver at all? It may hike the price if it did.
