Permission to use conversations feature? -

Sorry if this is a stupid question and I missed something very obvious. I want to contact a user privately, but when I click "Start a conversation" I get a 403. Do I just need to post first? Guess I'll see... Edit: OK, no, still can't use conversations.

OK, I did some searching and saw a post from @Null saying you need 1 post to use conversations. Does starting a thread not count? Will the reply work? I'm so sorry. I feel like a doofus. Edit: No luck...

Your biggest offense (I am not a mod) is that you tagged Null in the OP after you resolved the situation. Don't do this. Only tag people if you need to alert them of your post without quoting a post of theirs (if you want to call on their expertise, or you're stating a fact about them and want to give them the opportunity to disclaim if you fuck up), and especially don't frivolously tag Null.
