I want to know and learn more about philosophy, but more the ancient ones as opposed to these welfare philosophers (who use mental gymnastics to defend their leechery). I havent seen a good philosophy youtuber yet. Shouldn't surprise anyone since there are few channels who do it for education or altruistic reasons as opposed to clicks

Here's some good ones which are relavent.

The Republic is very accesable as is Meditations, Nietze and kant are a nightmare in english. obviously we've never spoken irl so I don't know were you'd be comfortable at. You might want to start with some basic summeries so you've got something to build on rather than going into stuff blind. avoid ayn rand and watch out for deductive errors like philosophytubes work.

EDIT- don't put antiquety philosophers on a pedastall whatever you do.

Every single photo of him looks the same. Same Myspace angle and same bizarre photoshop on the cheekbone area. I will never understand why he does that to the side of his face, it looks uncanny.

Olly if you're trying to go for Tilda Swinton cheekbones you should just use a light contour instead of doing shitty photoshop. Contour and highlight would look a bit better and you can even use it to make your other facial features look more feminine, or more like Contra if that's what you're going for. If you want to look like Contra it'll be a bit hard since his chin is beyond botched, but if you experiment enough with contour and highlight you can make your chin look smaller like his. You can also use contour on the sides of your nose to slim it down the way Contra does. Also I think you need to use false eyelashes or an eyelash curler if you aren't already. Absolutely do not overdo any of these things or you will look like a drag queen.

He's clearly going for that classic The Scream-look. It's alluding to the existential dread trans people suffer from by being forced to live in the UK - without free access to publicly funded cosmetic surgeries.

That screenshot is from the HCR article I linked above, which is a bit fear-mongering. It does use the FBI's hate crime reports so it's only a comparison of reported hate crimes rather than an increase or decrease in overall hate crimes.

I "online audited" this course last summer and learned a lot from it:

Missouri State University Intro to Philosophy

The professor is sort of cheesy and it gets a little repetitive but it seemed like a good overview of philosophers from Aristotle to Descartes to Kant to Locke and some more modern ones. 31 lectures ranging from 25-50 minutes. It also made me roll my eyes a bit at Olly's "I'm giving away my education for free!" when actual college courses exist on YouTube etc for free and you can do interactive ones for cheap on places like Coursera.
