I have been wondering what Phil's sleeping habits are. Whereas for other lolcows they tend to stay up extremely late arguing with people on the internet I think it is far more likely that since Phil sleeps outside he gets up with the sun and goes to sleep when it goes down. Since he is outside though he probably has a lot of disturbances to his sleep and likely sleeps a lot worse than other lolcows despite being more on schedule.

Does anyone know whether he potentially sleeps indoors as opposed to outdoors?

You could graph all the known statements he's made and see what time they're at.

Yea I keep saying this but Phil is not as homeless as he makes out, he's often got some place to crash even if it's just a couch etc how he finds them is the mysterious part as he doesnt go back to many places regularly (there are some exceptions) he spends maybe 2/3 nights a week outside.

He just spends most of his day at the libary / coffee shop or any alternative hangout that has wifi or derps around the city on the bus to kill time.

Which, incidentally, is still a hell of a lot more than most of us. Especially when you consider it's mostly voluntarily on his part. It's all about image (which, incidentally, I suspect is why he plays up being 'homeless' even when he's really just couch surfing most of the time). I mean I like camping now and again, but there's nothing fun or romantic about sleeping under an overpass.

And what a wonderful waste of taxpayer money that is! He could just get a job, or hell, even volunteer at a library or something and actually get more out of life. Well, maybe not with his tattoos. And wardrobe. And noticeable lack of hygiene and social skills. But at one point he had to have been employable, and at a job he probably could have tolerated to boot

Your right I really should have qualified that with the word's "At most", it's not often he has to spend that many nights outside an it's very rarely for consecutive nights.
An your right he does play it up for that very reason, all's Phil has is his image and it's not a very thick veneer at that - He knows down an out's who are homeless tend to get a lot of sympathetic attention and that's what he craves most of all so that's what he plays to, if he wasn't homeless through his own actions and decisions (and he's had plenty of opportunities for this to change to boot that he's squandered) I'd be sympathetic towards him but as it is I'm not.

Oh definitely, I think part of that is cultivated to make himself more oppressed so he can't get a job or at least the sort of job he's able to do - his one an only job at wawa was through one of those Tards to Work programs now there is no shame in that because well Phil's not capable of any real work but he was earning far more then, than he does now off SSDI. What's appealing to him is that he's now able to not have to work to get a not insignificant amount of money for doing it.

His attitude can be summed up as "Don't want to work, how can I avoid work", so he's consciously made the decision to put himself outside of the employable population (at least one benefit of this is he's not half arsing a job that some one else would be glad of) and he's the sort of person who makes it difficult for people who are in genuine hardship who are not able to work that certain media likes to portray as scroungers an layabouts but for the majority that simply isn't the case.

The libary thing I gather is normal for the homeless population in the US (not so much in England duno why) but the thing is he's not using that time he's there productively and that does irritate me, he's litterly in a place designed to spread an share knowledge but what does he do? He uses it to browse porn, post hate speech on Facebook and to act like a moron, if he was using his time to look for work, or at least try and educate himself on something anything I wouldn't have a issue but he doesn't he just uses the computer and takes up resources that people who want to better themselfs or get a job could be using, and he makes the other patrons uncomfortable while he does so.

The homeless like Phil infest libraries in the US because it's not legal to discriminate against them, just like you can't keep somebody out of court or a voting booth for being homeless. I assume you don't have that in England because your court rulings in regard to libraries are less insane than ours.

I'm sure our libraries don't have a big homeless populace because using internet-bound computers isn't free and they'd be better off in a callshop where they can drink and listen to music.

Where are you they charge for internet access? Every libary I'm aware of in the UK has free internet access for 1 hour a day per user, they only charge you to print stuff or scan stuff.

Sorry, I swallowed the "England" part somehow. I'm elsewhere in Europe and library internet usage is more expensive than in callshops over here, hence less attractive for people who just want to use the internet.

Ah right, where about's is that? It just sounds odd that a libary would charge for internet access at all.

Germany, though different libraries likely make their own rules. I can't say I wasn't surprised hearing Americans talking about hobos in libraries the first time, mostly because I didn't see libraries in context with internet usage since the late 90s, before callshops and gaming clubs were established with the broad public which offered a laxer atmosphere for poor people and migrants who wanted to phone home cheaply. These shops are still in good business as we have laws demanding the owner of an internet connection to take full responsibility for the actions of his guests, so public WiFi is usually restricted.

Ah that makes sense then, an explains why I got raped for wifi in the last hotel I stayed at in Berlin, an yea we have a few of those shops in the UK but the numbers are going down because Lyberia Sim's are free to get (i.e. no ID to be shown like in Germany) and damn cheep to call the middle east and asia, they used to buy bulk minutes from a provider to a country an then charge people just under BT rate to call there was good money in it.

Those shops are getting weird in what they are offering now, specialist currier services (import an export), more money transfare services than you can shake a stick at, even seen a few selling imrasat kit's an minute cards etc, lot's of older smart phones too.

I can picture Phil making that goofy smile as he browses porn on library computers (which tends to be a no no in public libraries in the USA, BTW) and then bouncing and squeaking with frustration as yet another lie is exposed yet again.
