he seemed to show them off a alot in older pics. but recently he either doesn't smile or in the extreme case covers his mouth completely. so can we add a @Cowlick /nick bate esque grill to the list of horrifying phil features? i mean being a bridge troll probably doesn't have a good dental plan......

Pretty sure Phils way to busy fighting the CIS to finish the fight against plaque and tooth decay, a diet of mostly junk food has likely killed his chompers.

If thats what Phil is doing then hes taking it to an extreme.....but then again when doesn't he.

Why should he cover his mouth? A human being should be perfectly capable of smiling without their showing teeth... and he dosen't need to smile in the first place. The only thing that makes sense to me, is that he is missing a few of his front teeth and that this is even noticeable with his mouth closed... wouldn't surprise me either, he seems to be a very 'punchable individual'.

Phil doesn't exactly seem like the type to spend his battleship on dental care when he sees more important priorities, like having another picture of a bicycle or map of Latin America on his arm. Perhaps living with his mom again may see a change to that?

Why should he cover his mouth?

I think that in Japan it's considered impure for women to show bone (like teeth) - hence why women cover their mouths when laughing in anime. It's an old Buddhist tradition, IIRC. Maybe Phil still has some weeaboo in him?

Someone did a closeup of Phil's teeth in an old picture of him and they were brown. Then again, that could have been due to the lighting.

I'm kinda surprised it hasn't been made a big deal of before, since it was one of his most prominent facial features. Every photo/video of him from back in the day has him with either the pedo grin or the dumb cow look with those teeth front and center. It was so bad he couldn't even keep his lips together properly. Either they've fallen out, someone's knocked them out, or he's learned to jut his lower jaw out when he takes a photo.
