Oh boy, time for a minirant/speech.
I apologize in advance if the above comes off as a bit spergy, I'm probably too passionate about food, lmao.
Fresh Stage 3 Pinapple in Hawaii is good on pizza there, not canned pinapple, not imported pineapple, and not stages 1 and 2, and only grown in Hawaii.
Stages 1 and 2 are too sweet, but stage 3 is unsweet and acidic like Roma tomatoes. Hawaii has volcanic soil which gives the pineapples a better flavor, but the flavor gets ruined in transport. It has to have been picked within the last 3 days, ships are too slow, and planes ruin them at high unpressurized altitude. Canned Pineapple is shitty and full of nonsense, and made from stage 1 pineapples anyways. By stage, I mean that pineapple plants produce only three pinapples in their lifetime. The first ones are small and super sweet with low acidity, the second ones are medium and about half as sweet with moderate acidity, and the third ones are large, unsweet, and very acidic, and typically only used for pizza or to grow new plants, although stages 1 and 2 can produce new plants as well. While the pinapples I have been growing taste ok, they just don't have the flavor grown-in-Hawaii pinapples have, and it's basically impossible to produce that flavor because it's pretty much illegal to export soil out of Hawaii, and ground lava rocks just don't cut it. So basically, pinepple pizzas available most places do suck, but, if you go to Hawaii and order pinapple pizza from a non-chain restaurant there, you're in for a real treat.

The only acceptable way to eat pineapple on pizza is to go full on Hawiian with it. Ham, bacon, pineapple, green peppers, and BBQ sauce.

Exactly.. acidic Tomato sauce with acidic Pineapple is too much acidic foods. Heck, I would even say no sauce at all
