PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale -

It seems Chris has acquired PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. However according to what I have read here before, he lets her mom crash in his room and that alone shocks me. But what shocks me more is that his mom lets him spend his tugboat money on whatever he wishes; especially PS3 games. One of the characters from the game is my favorite character Raiden, who is from Metal Gear Revengeance and that game is bloody as hell complete with dismemberment (in my opinion, it even rivals against the violent content in God of War to a degree). Sometimes, I think Chris is still trying to make us jealous where he thinks that he has a "caring mother" who lets him buy all the games he wants and live in their home as "comfortably" as possible. What I don't get is that his mom is grossed out at the Resident Evil series yet she's not grossed out of him playing God of War? Now in this game, we have a mix of characters from "mature" games like Raiden taking on the more "kiddie" characters like PaRappa in this game and his mom doesn't seem to care about her son at all. Would've been funny to see someone challenge Chris in that game and that someone plays as Raiden and he kicks his favorite characters' asses like PaRappa and Sackboy. What do you think about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale or Chris playing the game? I think the game is interesting though its an obvious copy from Nintendo's Super Smash Bros.

Speaking of Super Smash Bros, there is Solid Snake in there and he's usually played in the PlayStation game console yet he's in a game full of Nintendo characters. Makes me wonder what's up with that? Or did they just love Solid Snake a lot that they had to put him in there?

Sorry if I seem ranting but I'll let you guys post your thoughts on Chris playing the game or the game itself.

I personally think the game looks OK, it's an obvious Smash clone, but it's OK. As long as it controls well and each character has a varied moveset and the items are good. I do hear that it sucks in terms of content, though, with few cutscenes and the fact that only Super Moves can defeat players instead of just knocking them off a stage. (Super Moves are able to be used when you hit opponents, it fills up a meter at the bottom of the screen and once it's full, you get to unleash the move)

I think that the PlayStation universe is a bit too... diverse for a game like this. I mean, Nintendo usually has kiddie, friendly games with the obvious exceptions of Fire Emblem and Metroid. But still, they all seem to fit a bit. Snake was a bit of a deviation, true, but he fit in, I guess. At least in the Smash universe, it's established that it's all in fun, and the deviation characters are few. I can totally see Meta Knight and Ike having a swordfight. I can't see Raiden beating up on Parappa, though. And I don't want to. Even if I do like the idea of Rachet and Clank vs. Jak and Daxter.
However, I'm sure Chris will love it, despite the flaws. He'll most likely declare it TEH BEST GUME EVAAAA and rant about how people think this game and Super Smash Bros. are similar.
Trivia time: The official reveal trailer for PlayStation All-Stars was tagged with "Super Smash Bros". (Anyone remember the YouTube tag system?) Sony wasn't even trying.

I beat he's cleared the story mode, but most of the trophies that he's missing are things like, "clear the game in less than ten minutes on hard mode" or "knock Raiden's wolf off a cliff."

(I don't know if it's possible to do either one of these in the game, I'm not a PS3 gamer.)

Uh, you're reading too much into this. All we have is one report of Barb bitching at him because of a game she saw him playing. That doesn't mean she's always paying equal attention to whatever he's playing; it's not like Barb has a spergometer checklist where she says to herself "okay God of War is 8 points of violent but Resident Evil is 8.5 points of violent so that's a no-no".

1- Here's the thing, PS All-Stars isn't all that bloody. It's just your standard Smash Bros clone. Unless she has an issue with cartoonish violence as well I don't see why she'd care.
2- Surprised it took him this long to get the game. Considering it's mix of Smash Bros and Sony games it seemed totally up his alley.

The creators of Metal Gear Solid and Super Smash Bros. are friends. In fact, if the release date hadn't been an issue Solid Snake would have been in Super Smash Bros. Melee.[/sperg]

As it were, Chris probably doesn't give a shit about gameplay or 99% of the characters. It has the two or three characters from games he likes or obsesses about and that's more than enough to drop $60.
