For those unaware, the Playstation TV is basically a Playstation Vita turned from a handheld to a home console. It originally was sold for around $100, but Best Buy's website currently has them marked down to $20, you can basically get one and a Vita game for less than the price of some Console games alone. If there ever was a vita game you wanted to play but didn't want to shell out lots of money for a failed console, now's the time.

Is the Vita really that bad?

Its got some decent games (I'm a bit of a weeb, so take that as you will), and the hardware seems pretty, but Nintendo and mobile games have the market pretty much wrapped up. Its bad enough that some of its better games are being ported to the PS4 because they tanked on the Vita.

The PSP has always had trouble in the US, where portables are seen as kiddie and the social features that come from living in a cramped-ass country like Japan are all but useless over here because like four people own Vitas, and they're spread out between the two coasts. The PSP had its time, but then the smartphone gaming cancer moved in, and when the 3DS found its feet, the PSP line's marketshare was pretty much doomed. Not helping is Sony itself, who more or less abandoned it in the US almost after it released.

All that said, $20 for a console and access to a collection of (for now) exclusives isn't too bad. It isn't like this is the Virtual Boy.

On top of Vita games there's also virtual PSP games, PSOne Classics, and Playstation Minis(basically indy titles that are small in both price and overall content) that can be played on it, so it's not like it's just what few games vita has as games made for the console. I Own most of the PSP and PS1 game I want in physical form, but for those who missed out on either of those consoles back in the day can play them and the games go for a lot cheaper than their physical versions would cost especially with the more rare PS1 titles.

Sony giving the finger to vita users like me and dropping support less than 2 years after release was the primary reason I picked up a Xbox one instead of a ps4.
Also the fact that it was costing literally half the price and much better user support.(my replacement kinect arrived in 2 days).
