He won't outright admit it but @cat is a person who cares very deeply about his positive ratings. It's clear that he monitors changes in them and tries to stake out winner-bait posts early in Chris threads. Judging from some of his comments I believe that he bases a lot of his self-worth on the fact that he has so many positive ratings. I think there's nothing wrong with this and we should all take a few minutes out of our day to find some cat posts and rate them 'like' or 'winner'.
