It's more that I don't really like the idea of using dead people for advertisement beyond putting their face on the box (which was something those dead people did when they were alive) or having a blurb about them with a photo in their establishment (which in on the level of a respectful epitaph). So I'm cool with Colonel Sanders' face on a bucket of KFC, but I don't care for the commercials where people dress up like him, and the CGI zombies are right out. Kiki hits a lot of those notes in this entry.

I think the fight would have been better if the medicham had a custom skin and not just shiny.

Image how fucked up and cool it be, if the medicham looked half melted from the lava, that fit right into Misdreavus trying to scare you.

Side Episode 4: Gang wars

Welcome back to the "beautiful" Reborn region!

This is gonna be the last "filler" episode before we get back to the plot and finally save the schizo kids!

Sargon also finally got xer Magma gang uniform, let's go see the boss.

Storm it. Drive them out. For good.

Excellent! Time to take out those Aqua Fags once and for all!

This whole quest line escalated quickly, we just did one heist with them and we are now fighting the Aqua gang with the intention of defeating them for good.

Here's the current team, let's go kick the Aqua gang's asses.

Time to show this blues why the Red team is better cue the gang war theme!

I typed "Gang battle music" in youtube and this video popped up and since I had to listen to it now I'm forcing you to listen to it too.

This is gonna be a massacre. As expected Depends on and Sheeple one shot their opponents with discharge and giga drain respectively.

Once again we one shot this two, the only difference is that Sheeple used Thunder Punch this time to avoid damaging Depends On.

And for the third time in a row we one shot these two.

Probably the easiest battle we've had so far.

The rest of the gang seemingly teleported inside while we battled the two grunts.

That gave us just the distraction we needed to slip in!
Quick! Break's here too, so let's move!​

And he goes on ahead.

Once again its up to Sargon to do the heavy lifting.

The conflict between Aqua and Magma has been rehashed long enough!​

The fact that he only has 3 pokémon gives me a very bad feeling. cue the Edgy team aqua battle music!

The enemy pelipper immediatelly sets up Tailwind and rain thanks to its ability, Sheeple doesn't give a flying fuck and oneshots it with Discharge.

Next up he sends his Wartortle, its time for Vee to make her debut in battle. Our rat lands a sucker punch doing very little damage, while Wartortle attacks with Aqua Tail leaving Vee with just 9 HP, I use Quick Attack on the next turn to do a little more damage before our rat dies to a bite. thank Arceus that Joey doesn't follow Sargon on social media otherwise he would start sperging about his Rattata.

Its time for Depends On to avenge our fallen plague vermin, Wartortle prepares to use Skull Bash a two turn attrack, but in turn falls to a single Giga Drain before he can actually use it.

His last pokémon is a Sharpedo, who manages to land a Crunch and take away half of Sheeple's health but our goat counters with Discharge and one shots it.

and we have now defeated our rivals.

Damn right, now in the name of the Reborn City police department you're under arrest for being a faggot.

Fine. There's no point in fighting anymore.
Aqua Gang, pull back.
It's over.​

And they all run away like the cowards they are. while Sargon was distracted tweeting about this victory.

After so long, we finally beat the Aqua Gang!
Thank you, Sargon! Great job, Break.
We'll head back to our own base at once.

After spering for a few hours on social media, Sargon finally heads back to base.

That was kind of disappointing for a gang war. I was expecting some kind of real Reborn style shenanigans. Like the enemy gang leader having a Mythical they stole or something like that, and that's why they needed you for this, otherwise I don't see why the gang boss couldn't just do it himself, other then because we have to make sargon important. It was nice to have the bosses pokemon be at the level cap.

So uh if you picked the other team the boss fight would basically be the same but with fire pokemon right? They be around level 40-45? If that is the case, why didn't the red boss just do it himself aside from type disadvantage.

You know what, forget about any of that. I am sperging too hard on a side quest that was fair and made sargon more important then the main plot makes them.

Hey, an arc where I didn't get MATI at the over 9000 levels of pretension and whininess is a win in my book. It's a nothing arc but the gang leader seems a likeable fellow.

In replaying this I honestly have to ask who looked at Shelly and thought it was in anyway okay? Literally all you have to do is make her a single battle and then she's fair but her being a double battle that effectively spreads out 300 base power per turn while weakening your special attackers is fuckin' nutso.

Probably the person RPing as Shelly, but even the most hardcore Amethyst simps agree that Shelly is the hardest gym leader.

Hell I was surprised when they give you the stats for that Pulse Camerupt, only to have it be dealt with by someone else.

I'm surprised too i'm even curious what a Pulse Camerupt would have looked like, and I think its a good twist (at least much better than the "cal is secretly not evul" twist), but sadly the twist is ruined by the fact its yet another instance of "the devs self inserts solve the situation for you"

It does make you think, but my guess is the Challenger characters were Caine, Victoria, and Fern. I'm thinking it was Caine drove the plot the most, but the other Gym Leaders got involved a lot when something happened in their backyard. The way it's set up, I'm willing to believe Amethyst played characters like Shade and Corey, Gym Leaders that are part of the plot but not super integral.
