Thanks for sharing this. I live in Canada and don't know enough about the history sometimesThe Degenerations, a Québécois traditionalist song about the negative effects of the Quiet Revolution and the secularism and modernism it brought on society.
This is genuinely one of the few songs that brought me close to crying. The way Quebec - one of the few genuinely Catholic and traditionalist societies north of the Rio Grande - was sold out by Leafland's globalists in favour of the woke capitalism embodied by people like Guillaume ”Sophie” Labelle has always made me sad, and this song expressed that in a way nothing else could.
Your great-great-grandfather cleared the land,
your great-grandfather worked the land,
and then, your grandfather made this land profitable,
and your father sold it to become a civil servant.
Et pis, toé, mon p'tit gars ; tu sais ce que tu vas faire ?
And you, my little boy; do you know what you'll do?
In your little three and a half room flat, far too expensive and cold in the winter?
You dream of becoming a property owner,
and at night, you dream of having your own little piece of land.
Ton arrière-arrière grande-mère, elle a eu quatorze enfants,
Your great-great-grandmother had fourteen children,
your great-grandmother had almost as many,
and then, your grandmother had three; it was enough,
and your mother didn't want any; you, you were an accident.
And you, my little girl; you change partners all the time,
when you do stupid things, you save your relationship by having an abortion.
But there are mornings where you wake up crying,
and when you dream at night, of a big table surrounded by children.
Ton arrière-arrière grand-père a vécu la Grosse Misère,
Your great-great-grandfather lived through the Great Depression,
your great-grandfather used to save every penny,
and then, by a miracle, your grandfather became a millionaire,
ton père l'en a hérité, il a tout mit dans son REÉR.
your father inherited it all, and put it all in his government pension.
And you, my young man, you owe your arse to the government,
without any way of getting a loan from a banking institution.
To calm your dreams of holding up a cashier,
you read books that talk about ”voluntary simplicity”.
Tes arrière-arrières grand-parents, ils savaient comment fêter,
Your great-great-grandparents knew how to party,
your great-grandparents swung hard at their parties,
and your grandparents knew the time of pop music,
for your parents, it was the discos where they first met up.
Et pis, toé, mon ami, qu'est ce-que tu fait de ta soirée ?
And you, my friend, what are you doing with your evening?
So, switch off your TV, you shouldn't stay inside!
Happily, in this life, some things refuse to change,
so put on your best clothes, because tonight we're going to dance!

They have another, more tasteful variation - "Muhammad is dead". YouTube announced awhile ago that they were banning song, but I didn't have any difficult finding it on there:

He's not a prophet
Just another Arab in the end
He has a sofa made of fleas
And he eats goat cheese [pretty sure this is meant as a euphemism]
A construction worker
Even when he fasts on Ramadan
And he has an orange ID card [former color of Palestinian IDs]
Muhammad is a homo son of a whore
Muhammad is dead
Muhammad is dead
Muhammad is dead
Muhammad is dead
Muhammad is dead
Muhammad is dead
