First photograph ever taken. Shit composition imo.

I always find this interesting, early photography is very pictorial. As a science there would have been a lot of painstaking trial and error trying to devise the precise chemistry for development time and exposure. I like this photo of the first human ever photographed. He must have been standing very still while having his shoes shined.

Some OC for ya. A pamphlet American soldiers gave to Iraqi kids at the height of the Iraq war. There were two duplicate halves of the pamphlet, one half in English and the other in Arabic, I'm sure most Iraqi kids don't speak English. I only included one of the Arabic pages just as an example. I have no idea who made it, but it is authentic I can assure you. Not going to bother trying to post them in order. This is most if not all of the pages, excluding the Arabic pages obviously.

I have a postcard signed by Paul Tibbets. And some miscellany my grandpa brought back from Germany after the war. Some Nazi toy soldiers he picked up in a bombed out town. A supposed SS dagger, which I’m not sure how he got, or if it’s real given he was an aircraft mechanic. I think he got it from another soldier who was being shipped home and couldn’t fit it in his luggage, or something like that.

Of personal mementos, I have a piece of roofing shingle that was blasted off our house when it was struck by lightning.

Wow, this looks intriguing. I want to know who drew these illustrations and why he went with this weird artstyle. Kind of funny how the "baghdad kids" are both white.
Anyways, my father owns an almost complete collection of every issue of Perry Rhodan, a german science fiction series ongoing since the 60s. He is reading all of them too, which impresses me because I'm not sure how you can keep track of the lore of a series thousands of episodes long.
