What's pozzing?
Aids on purpose. Deliberately catching and spreading HIV or AIDS. It's gross.
The message board is a dirty fucking cesspool even WITHOUT the whole pozzing thing, anyway.

So far as I know, there's no law specifically targeting this. Deliberately infecting someone would be criminal. There's probably some law somewhere forbidding causing bodily harm, without regard for whether it's consensual. BDSM enthusiasts are sometimes prosecuted under such when there antics land their partners in the hospital or worse.

Possibly something of the sort of what used to be called "mayhem."

But in general, there is really no targeting of such behavior by law enforcement that I know of.

In criminalizing it, it would be important to keep from accidentally criminalizing merely negligent conduct, which a lot of people engage in innocent of criminal intent. There's a lot more mere stupidity, which is generally not criminal, than there is this.

ETA: There are also laws against "risking a catastrophe" in many places, and there are probably specifically disease-related laws that could be applied. I don't know if they ever have been applied to this.

And note, deliberately spreading it to the unwilling would be an entirely different matter.

I was wondering when these guys would be brought up. I did some research on them in their heyday, and their forums used to be a lot worse. It's still absolutely disgusting, but to give some context:

There was this group that frequented their forums that would gang-up on gay men in Liverpool with the intent of giving them HIV. They would constantly gloat about it, and when they were taken down, they were given exclusive prison sentences, because they feared for other prisoners' safety.

Scary stuff, man.

I know there are certain people who consider it a badge of honor to have an STD or three, as proof how much action they get in bed or somesuch. But even then, they're usually talking about the sort of stuff that clears up with a week or two of drugs and/or topical cream. This is just... incomprehensible.

I heard about this stuff a few years ago on the SA forums. I don't think it was this site specifically, but this little subculture has been around for a while. Not going anywhere near that site at work (assuming it's not blocked by our filter) but what I understood from back then was that it was viewed as a kind of relief, that it freed you to do what you wanted without worry because you already caught the AIDS.

I don't know if any of you saw that episode of House where they treated the gay dude with AIDS, but that's a representation of it. Kind of like folks dying of lung cancer who keep on smoking, the thinking is "I've already got the worst that can come from this, so why give it up? I might as well enjoy what I can while I can."

I had a phase where I was obsessed with the band Erasure and was channeling my obvious past life as a gay man who slept around in the 80's and died of AIDS, and I researched the group quite a bit.

The lead singer said that in the 80's all his best friends died of aids, and as the only one left alive he felt guilty and horrible, and wanted to know what they had gone through. So he wasn't careful on purpose and now has aids and is living and dealing with it

I think he is careful now so he doesn't spread it, but for him it was a weird cathartic thing that helped him with his survivors guilt, and that they do it partially as a rebellion against the rules that were set up in the late 80's to avoid aids spreading (closing bath houses, etc). It's been a disease some of the more promiscuous gay subset has embraced as their own, almost like a war vet who proudly wears his purple heart.

The ones who purposely spread it to unconsenting victims are fucking murderers and should be jailed, though imo.

As AIDS treatments get better, people are doing this sort of shit because AIDS is seeming like less and less like the death sentence it used to be. There's an advertising campaign in my city trying to get people to start getting tested more often.

I've heard people like this want to giver other people "The gift" but I don't know what they see out of this.
It's like a real life form of Corpus disease minus the bloating and immunity to other diseases.

Now consider this. some of these people might chase after bisexual people, so they can give the gift to women who would give the gift to other unknowing men.
