Prey 2006 and 2017 thread -

I really loved the first game and the demo for the new one looks really good. The first game has nothing to do with the new one but it's ok. I might buy it tomorrow when it comes out but it's a Bethesda game.

I remember really enjoying the original one. Although I'm not sure how well it's aged.

I remember some of the alien designs being pretty sweet.

I got my hands on the new one today because nobody at the store knew when it was coming out.

Spoiler: Parts of the game for the first 4 hours of gameplay

• It's more related to System Shock then the first Prey.
• Lots of inventory management.
• The robots with the flamethrowers piss me off more than the normal enemys.
• Parts of the story and the game after the first hour of the game also do mind tricks with you
• You go into outer space
• You don't get to turn into an object till after 4 hours in.

So far I give it an 8 out of 10

The new Prey looks interesting, but i don't like how Bethesda screwed the studio who developed the original and was working on Prey 2 (which also looked good), hell, the whole series in general has a very screwed up development history dating back as far as 1995/96, so maybe it's just a curse.

According to Eurogamer it clocks in at around 20 hours which is good because I was a bit miffed at Dishonored 2 being only eight fucking hours long and costing $60.

I played the demo and thought it was a lot of fun. Never played the first Prey, but the demo left a really good impression on me that I'm considering buying it. Using the GLOO cannon to platform was silently encouraged and exploration of all the areas feels really rewarding.
