Pride Player Cards are on their way to online shooter Valorant, according to a leak.

Discovered by data miner RumbleMike, the cards will be available for a limited amount of time from the start of June – coinciding with Pride month.

Players will be able to grab the cards from the official Valorant website, they won’t be included in the existing battle pass.

Seven cards will be available representing the flags of the LGBT+ community: gay, transgender, pansexual, non-binary, bisexual, asexual and lesbian.

The cards will be visible to other players when competing online and are meant to represent the diversity of Valorantplayers.

It’s a bold move from developer Riot Games, who don’t have a great track record with diverse representation.

Despite the online character shooter’s range of characters, Riot itself has been heavily criticised in the past for its internal sexism, per an incendiary report by Kotaku.

And while the company has made strides since then, just recently co-founder Marc Merrill deleted a controversial tweet he posted around critical race theory.

So while these Pride Player Cards are a step towards promoting diversity, many are sceptical at how Riot will handle any backlash.

There has been some positive reaction to the cards on social media, with players excited to show off their sexuality with pride.

There is overwhelming concern, however, that using the Pride Player Cards to highlight their sexuality will result in hate from other players.

Isn't Valorant one of those games you only play if you love fags and trannies in the first place
It was supposed to be a competitor to games like Paladins and Overwatch. Haven't paid attention to it much but guess what one of the things people I saw talking about it, liked about it. Go on, guess.

Yet again, developers and publishers fail to understand the fact that gamers don't give a flying fuck about your pride flags. Just like we don't give a flying fuck about whether you like anime, or whether you jack off to cartoon animals. Which is why we make fun of people who think these things are important. We don't care. Just play the fucking game, leave your real-life bullshit at the door. You've got your avatar and your username already. You don't need more "uniqueness".

I swear, if people who care about pride flags spent as much time actually playing the game as they do sperging about getting called a faggot online for doing a dumb play, they wouldn't be getting called faggots in the first place.

Considering I forgot Valorant existed until I read this thread and only remember it as knockoff CS:GO I'd hardly call it a hit game.
I tried looking up player numbers and most results are just cope posts of "The game's not dying!"
lmao

It's totally knockoff CS:GO, but CS:GO is barely playable in its current state with all the cheaters. You'd think with all the crap they introduced like trusted mode and overwatch etc, they'd have that figured out.
