I never worried about the VPN thing, since my country is really a shithole in cybersecurity terms (and i'm a student of that).
The only way you can make problems with anything related to Internet when i live is DDOS'ing a gov webpage or being included in shady shit like international CP groups.
But isn't bad remembering using Brave.

I could recommend KeePass for managing passwords. Keep in mind that by design it is offline only and if you want to synchronize or backup it, you'll have to do that yourself. But if you have a strong main password, even if someone gets a hold of your database, they can't really do much. As a fun fact, it's been also recommended by German, French and Swiss government bodies, as well as passing various security audits without any major security issues.

I am genuiley tech-retarded. VPN fools websites that I visit with a different IP, but to prevent my government from finding out where I go online, I'd need to use TOR, I guess, is that correct?
Does the VPN at least partially cover my ass in case Germany goes full Online Gestapo?

Dashlane is also a good service for remembering passwords and if you get the premium version, you'll also be protected by their dark web monitoring and VPN.

I use KeePass for work, and Bitwarden for myself because I'm lazy. Both are great tools.

I still feel safer uploading a KeePass database to a cloud like Dropbox rather than using a cloud based password manager, since I know the file is actually encrypted and useless without the password, while I cannot be fully sure of that in case of services like Bitwarden or LastPass.

Not on the list but needs to be stated.

Never drink or do drugs while posting on the Farms. I can speak from personal experience here that the only posts I truly have regretted making tend to be late at night after a few too many. When your inhibitions go down, or your brain gets addled on something is when you make dumb decisions.
