I liked a few of Doe Deere's lip colors but was unwilling to pay the price both in cash and literal toxicity levels so I bought a couple of etsy sellers with great results on my end who unfortunately seemed to have discontinued their lines. I'd like to use this as a place holder for home made products or inexpensive, quality replicas of products not worth the brand name attached to it. I'm going to quote @Dr.Research in this OP who seems to have some great homemade recipes for some face care products I'll be making in the next week and will post results:

I'm a crafting/ DIY sperg.
Jewlery, candles, scrub, skin care, and makeup mostly.
This weekend I made green tea & cherry blossom lotion, lip balm and activated charcoal facial toner (I was trying to dupe some fucktardely expensive charcoal toner). I wouldn't call it crafting, but I mix and formulate my own clay masks. Partially for cost effectiveness, partially because I generally hate those paper masks oh-so in vogue (they're a giant fucking rip off. Seriously, if anyone wants cheap and easy clay formulas let me know).

This dangley bracelet is one of my favorite pieces. You can probably guess that the kitty face was silver plated (or silver colored) but touching it so much wore if off. I decided to just buff the color off and be done with it.

I'd like to do more stuff, but I'd need more space (:sigh), alone time (*sigh*) and more money (*sigh* *sigh* *sigh*)

@entropyseekswork Sure!

Keep in mind, even when I actually write down an actual formula with real measurements, I usually end up disregarding them a bit.

- 2 oz. aloe juice (not the gel!)
-1.5-2. oz white willow bark infused water*
-5 drops tea tree oil
-7 drops vitamin E**
-1 tablespoon activated charcoal
-1/2 tablespoon bentonite clay***
-preservative****
-1 or 2 globs Polysorbate 20*****

*My skin is oily and acne-prone. White willow bark has salicin in it which is similar to asprin and salicylic acid. Feel free to skip this if you're skin is better than mine or you don't have the bark. If you do want to try it, just steep a small handful of bark in the water.

**Only if you happen to have it on hand. Non-essential

***You replace this with any clay. Some clays are better for certain skin concerns.

****Anytime you use water in a recipe you need a preservative lest you get bacteria. You can add certain essential oils to slow the process, but you'll need some type of real chemical preservative to keep the toner bacteria-free. If you think you'll use all your toner is a very short amount of time and won't be sticking your hands in the entire batch, you can probably skip this. How much preservative you need depends on the type.

*****This just makes the oils and water mix. You can skip this, just shake the toner before use to blend it all.

I suggest shaking the toner before use anyway since the charcoal tends to settle. Just note- you might get a bit of the charcoal streaking on your face. Just wipe it off or use less charcoal in the master recipe.

Enjoy

Here's something some other people may find useful:

Homemade Anti-Acne Pads

-Cotton squares or cotton rounds
-A jar (large enough to fit the cotton squares/rounds. NOTE: doesn't need to fit all of them at once)
-Spare container with lid
-Coffee filter
-5 oz. water infused with handful of white willow bark*
-5 drops tea tree essential oil
-3 drops mint essential oil
-A blob of Polysorbate 20**
-Preservative ***

*You can use distilled water or just boil tap water for 10 minutes. The white willow bark here has salicin in it which is similar to salicylic acid as far as acne fighting. You could leave this out but this is the main punch to the pads.

**This makes oils and water mix. You could leave this out if necessary, just shake the master mix when adding to the pads (keep reading for what that means). There are other formulas that do this job, but I'm keen on Polysorbate 20 since it doesn't seem to break me out.

***Yes, you need this. Water = bacteria and without some sort of chemical preservative your pads will go funny. You need a preservative, not an antioxidant. Otherwise do you want to spread bacteria on your face?

STEPS:
Buy yourself some cotton squares/rounds. You can pick these up at any grocery store or dollar store in the beauty/makeup aisle. Don't pay more than a buck or so for a pack.

Make your infusion. Pour your 8 oz. of water over your white willow bark, preferably in a measuring cup or tupperware. I let the bark steep for 10 minutes or so but you can get a stronger mixture by sealing the mix and letting it sit overnight. After steeping, pour the infusion into a new container over a coffee filter. You don't want bark in your final mix. If you can use something beside a coffee filter, go ahead, but I found the filter the easiest way.

Add your essential oils.

Add Polysorbate 20. Again, this allows the oil and water to blend so you don't get those oil blobs. The way I measure this out is by pouring a tiny amount into the cap, dropping it into the mixture, stirring and seeing if the oils dissolve. You don't need a lot. If you use something aside from Polysorbate 20 then your directions may differ.

Add your preservative. Different types have different directions and requirements (i.e. pH, ingredient restrictions). Find a preservative that works for you and follow the directions. This typically means adding an amount of preservative based on your total volume (i.e. calculating what amount is 2% of your total volume and adding that amount of preservative).

Mix or shake the mixture. From here you can either: put the cotton squares/rounds into the jar and pour some mixture into the jar OR dip each pad into the mixture and put them into the jar. Just don't get them too wet or they'll stick and be a tad hard to use.

Keep any leftover mixture in a spare container (I use an old shampoo bottle) and any cotton squares/rounds that didn't fit in the jar. Once you go through your first set of pads, use the saved mixture and spare cotton to make more.

I use these first thing in the morning before washing my face and using my other product and as a refresher after work. Enjoy

You guys. I have a dupe and I don't think the internet knows about it yet.

Revlon has some new matte metallic liquid lipsticks, one of which is a shimmery navy blue that is a pretty close match to the Urban Decay liquid lipstick called Time. It goes on a little sheerer, so it's not an exact match quality wise, but it's less than half the price. I think some of the other colors in the Revlon line may be pretty close to some of the other metallic UD liquids, but I don't own them to check for sure.

Oh thank you. I'm still a makeup baby, I just got into makeup this February and while I own a lot of high quality products I'm still apprehensive of buying expensive lipsticks because I don't know how to fully use them yet.

I don't think this really counts as a dupe, it was the result of being annoyed when I arrived at Sephora only to discover they gave themselves the day off because their AC broke, I wanted to pick up a couple of things, one of which was a rose oil based moisturizer. Across the street was a GNC, I figured maybe they'd carry an essential oil of rose and they had one that was a 5% blend cut with grape seed oil. So I put about 40 drops of that into the argan oil I already have along with ten drops of tree tree oil I forgot I had. I thought about @Dr.Research as I did it, I've been using it for about a week now and love it <3 between it and the glycolic acid based toner I switched to my skin is p f'n' radiant.
