While it is a movie from 8 years ago (and in fact filmed a whole decade ago) so it's talking more about class, you can easily extrapolate that in a future like that space wouldn't just be the only safe place for rich people but the only safe place for white people, I can imagine white people just having to fuck off planet Earth entirely should the situation become bad enough, like the ultimate version of white flight.
