a long time ago when I got into conspiracies, people tried to disprove me by claiming that The protocols are proof that it is all a forgery, but when you actually read it, It can apply to many things that happen today.

So Forgery or not, Can we discuss this book without yelling "antisemite"?

Hmm ok then.

The protocols are a forgery because they are almost entirely ripped off from (among other things) a much earlier work of political satire (the 19th century "Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu"), and their creation at the hands of a rather rabid Okrhana agent are failrly well documented as are all the other works it ripped off. The fact "it can apply to so many things today" was because these same things (i.e banking, globalisation,media manipulation) were of note and concern at the time, both when the protocols were published and when the various documents it ripped off were published.

Without throwing the word "antisemite" around, the protocols are somewhere on the level of bigfoot, nazis on the moon, and the slenderman conspiracy in terms of conspiracy theory believability, and should be treated as such.
