The whole lacking in charisma thing was a product of awkward people making low-production value content in Youtube's earlier days. It made the videos feel more tongue-in-cheek and personal, even in 2015-on, when shit really started to improve due to better video technology becoming more readily available to the common schmuck. A lot of people do this/did this, and I think it'll probably filter into what folks in the future view the "2010's aesthetic" as.

Quentin interviewed Max Krieg, a Cleveland game developer unable to fully open his eyes, mostly known for making CROSSNIQ+ and running @notstandardmcd, which means the idea of finding not standard McDonald's is not completely original. The video is 44 minutes long and I wouldn't really recommend watching it because it is Q asking Max the same set of questions about McDonald's. Just to set your expectations, at the very beginning there is a caption about how the mic's audio was lost and he had to use the camcorder's audio.
For some reason, I was thinking of this as a bizarro version of Dank's Chris Chan interview.
I'm left with two main takeaways from this:
1. Quinton is only a couple of follicles away from being Andrew Dobson
2. This clip, the only moment worth preserving imo. The context being weird McDonald's Quentin wants to visit.
Raid Speedrun
I bet most of you had forgotten about this one. For those of you who joined either for the DM saga or because of Turkey Tom's video, Quentin adopted Raid: Shadow Legends as a shitpost lifestyle after they failed to pay him for an ad read and has since dedicated a whole year to become the best in it. There's also the Sargon video in which he gest topless but that is another story.
What matters is that Quinton speedrunned Raid in Brutal mode back on December 28th and uploaded it.
Video currently has less than 600 total views. He doesn't show his face, he doesn't talk and the whole thing is on autopilot. But he made it.
He appears in three out of the four categories with at least one run, there's six, and Artifact% tops with four total runners. If you have an hour and a half of your life you don't value you can try and watch in full. I could only take about five minutes.
Quimby also mentioned wanting to stream starting this year, but he had to postpone due to the DM saga. In case you want to see him play games there's an option though. His second channel has a series called Passive Plays, back when Caleb was still in the channel. Mostly browser games or PS4 downloadable. As an aside, some of these videos have identical counterparts in the main channel which are unlisted and only accessible through description links.

What if Quinton joined CA?
Bear in mind this guy had a breakdown over CTC. I think there's a good possibility he would have turned out to be a lesser E-Rod and become jaded about other reviewers quite easily. The moment he realises everyone dislikes him he leaves awkwardly and gets second-hand schadenfreude when all but him get exposed as horny jacks.
All in all, the same outcome just extra steps.

3/4 of those YouTubers don't show their faces, and the one that does, is a pretty decent looking dude. Quinton, well, we're all in this thread, we all know what he looks like. Not only that, but the others know how to take random topics, and make them funny and/or interesting. I watched the IH video on fashion recently, and I lost my fucking mind when he brought up a picture of African lip discs, his friend said they weren't that fashionable, then IH brings the picture back with the SUPREME logo shopped onto the disc. Like, holy shit, my sides went into orbit. But I think it's mostly the face thing
Quinton is making some strides about the iCarly series.
Some notes:
- Quinton hunches back and barely moves his shoulders like he is trying to appear smaller.
- JAZZY HANDS.
- His shirt selection is exclusively ironic meme tees that look like women's tees. Which means:
A) He is still fat as fuck.
B) He bought them back when he was "thin".
C) He bought them from sites with low-quality materials.
D) He doesn't know how to wash his clothes and they shrank.
E) He is buying women's tees or at least under his size.
- He changes outfits multiple times throughout the videos to mark how he has been recording through multiple days.
Here's a gallery:
- The gag is pretty inconsistent because he uses the DefunctTV one for over half of the video.
- The yellow shirt + denim jacket is especially tomboy imo.
- You can tell when he was recording based on the outfit and the merch he has. Especially by the plushie totem.

1) You can add depth to a consoomer background by adding perspective lines like how AVGN and Stuckman do with their furniture in diagonals. You can add depth by giving some space and using the corners of the room like how Lindsay, Hontra, and Jebby do. Here Quinton has too many things grouped together at the same height competing for attention. Even NC gets it right by accident with no background and contrast.
2) If you want to bring attention to a face using the rule of thirds your line has to meet with one of your eyes, not your nose. This makes it feel like your subject is staring directly at the viewer but not the camera. Here he is staring at the camera.
3) Big Garfield is also lined wrong but is a figure that catches more attention by virtue of being bigger and brighter.
These rules don't have to be followed bit by bit but dear lord, these are novice mistakes.
