You know, I had a strong feeling that was the case when he unironically made the joke of "gay baby jail". I have never once heard a person use that phrase who wasn't left leaning in any way or form.

"gay baby jail" seems like the kinda thing opposite of what internet left politics guys would make joke wise and more like one of those apolitical absurd memes from like 2011-2015 . I mean that's pretty much what it is but like yeah it's kinda weird how there's a connection like that. Do the gay babies want to be sent to gay baby jail? Last I checked that was like the punishment zone for being a gay ass baby about shit.

Probably because Munk is making surprisingly funny MDE inspired videos on his own youtube channel now. I don't think Quinton will be covering this.

This may be an old take, but the thing that makes Quinton so frustrating and worthy of ridicule is that he has such enviable opportunities that he just chooses to throw away on garbage. I actually watched some of the earlier things he did about dead youtube channels when they got picked up by The Algorithm. He himself didn't add a great deal of value, but the topic was mildly interesting for the background. He got hundreds of thousands of subscribers from that. Those aren't top echelon of youtube numbers, but that's a huge platform. Imagine having hundreds of thousands of people who want a notification when you have something to say.

He even works with potentially interesting subject matter, but finds a way to boil away anything that could possibly be insightful. Yeah, talking about a show about a fictional internet celebrity made during a time where the concept was still being formed should be interesting actually. I'm not going to spend my time doing it, but there's most likely something absolutely worth saying about it. Whatever there might be, there would be no point talking about if for over 20 minutes though.

What he seems to want to be about is old media that was once pretty ubiquitous but has since been almost totally forgotten. Again, this is just frustrating to see him fumble so badly because, to me personally, it could be so interesting. I honestly love seeing 'artifacts' of the lowest parts of American monoculture— things that are so widespread at their peak as to be basically invisible. Seeing those things in hindsight can be incredibly revealing about their times. Either mocking it or taking a serious 'historical' perspective could both work, but doesn't. He tries awkwardly to posture as if these things are all simultaneously ironic hobbies for him but you can't 'ironically' consume everything put in front of you.
