no chance. he'd have to actually work and put out videos in order to achieve that goal. plus, his audience exists but is pretty niche. it'll get him so far, but not that far
D'Angelo has a better voice, better narrative structures (he did study filmmaking or media studies in college after all, if I recall correctly), better camera work, better editing, and deals with more immediate gossipy topics. Wallace does have a social justice retard thing going on to a degree, but it's mostly in the background of his major content. (e.g. the moral castigation of the Paul brothers and other influencers for violating California covid regulation bullshit). You can watch and enjoy most of Wallace's popular videos without getting a SJW or TDS vibe, which you get when watching Quinton. That is, Quinton has no subtlety about politics and society, so when he does incorporate those into his content it comes off horribly.
If this becomes the state of Quinton’s viewing habits, then maybe it’s a good thing that he hasn’t reached the pinnacle of Movie Bob and Nostalgia Critic’s success yet.

I cannot wait for Wallace to be eaten on his own but I have to concede, he is good at what he does. Yet I have to disagree with something:
Oh I doubt it will happen. He's got the black card—most youtubers in the commentary sphere can't claim the same. It would have to be a culture shift of some sort that isolates him.
I was trying to compare Quinton to Knudsen in terms of concept ("let me tell you about things you don't know about and make it somewhat interesting"), but clearly it doesn't fit exactly. I think you're absolutely right, though it's not by Quinton's design. He's just so terrible at executing (or creating?) his video concepts that they turn out like secondhand-experience food review videos.
I think there was a time when "dumpy white guy talking about nerdy things" was a novel shtick on Youtube and Quinton fell into that, but maybe I'm just giving him too much credit. It would be ironically hilarious if Quinton's obsession with trends and algorithms was a result of him falling accidentally into a trend that got popularized by the algorithm, though. Failing for years to recreate a spark that he only produced on accident the first time is characteristic of Quinton's career.
I feel that he will at least attempt to branch out to a less Millenial/older Gen-Z audience to a younger demographic in the next couple of years, plus older Gen-Z nostalgia is starting to become more profitable. Whether or not he succeeds is the question, and I do agree he is lazy, probably too lazy to have that kind of work ethic
I'm still having a hard time acknowledging the fact that this is the same dude I used to watch describing the fever dream that were those weird Nick movies with Drake Bell. He used to be so simple, deadpan, and enjoyable to a degree. Now everything is either sad, retarded, or both.
