I don't like the idea of canceling the student debts, cause a promise is a promise is a promise, but I can see reducing the interest to half of inflation or whatever, to allow it to become manageable for them over time.

With the amount of forgiven PPP loans, student debt cancellation should just happen BUT I also agree that a loan is a loan.
Like with PPP loans people should just have the option to include the loan as income on their tax return over the course of 2-3 years.

Hilariously, they've been trying to organize a general strike since about Black Friday last year. I wonder why that's never materialized? This is a big community of real workers... right?
If you've even been within arms length of anarcho-whatever social media you'll find that a ~General Strike~ gets called every year around May 1st.

It usually leads to every anarchist book store and bicycle cooperative being closed for a day.

I was really looking forward to that women's strike though. Can you imagine it? A world without women...

Enough sperging on what things should be or whether they maybe have a point.

The point is that they're encouraging each other to be lunatics. It's not about their left-leaning, it's a matter of scale. It's like if you supported PETA because the meat industry does dumb things sometimes. Take this current front-page post for example:

Oh my. 30% of people disagree? Occasional trolls in the comments section? Outrageous! This is no doubt the work of Correct The Record Kellogg's marketing team. We couldn't stamp out dissenting opinions? That means our pro-worker safe space is under attack!

Guy posts in support of the mythical "General Strike" and comment section informs him that he's not being extreme enough.
These are great. I really like the dude assuming people down voting his posts are some kind of capitalist plot to thwart the revolution. Plus the general idea these posters have of a decreasing standard of living. Also good is the idea that capping CEO and executive salaries would have any effect on prices. But probably best of all is the notion that unions could somehow raise enough funds to provide for a national general strike with no end until revolution occurs.

Guess that dude missed the silly failed October Strike op last year. When the literal children who started that realized they were too incompetent to actually do anything they first tried to rebrand as Movement X and then it basically got rolled up into the Sunshine Movement student activist group that likes to uh.. "protest climate change". gg no re.

You will never be a real revolutionary. You have no arms, you have no victory condition, you have no political power. You are an oversocialized man twisted by memes and propaganda into a crude mockery of effective change.

All the “support” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are ashamed and embarrassed by you, your “friends” laugh at your absurd policies behind closed doors.

Workers are utterly repulsed by you. Years of hard-earned experience have allowed them to sniff out useless layabouts with incredible efficiency. Even commies who are “popular” are unrelatable to an average worker. Your immaturity is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a worker to side with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your obtuse, insane theories.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear – you’ll tender your resignation, quit your job, and post about it on reddit. Your boss will find you, disappointed but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable attitude and incompetence. They’ll replace you with a mexican for a lower wage, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will never know of your plight. Your finances will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a middle-aged man that is unmistakably homeless.

I don't know. Redditors love it when people use a message board as a personal blog.
Well, most of them are former tumblrfags at this point.

These are great. I really like the dude assuming people down voting his posts are some kind of capitalist plot to thwart the revolution.
Yeah because a community (one of many on the internet) of neets, troons and commies is the world's #1 threat to capitalism. The self-aggrandizement of these people is absurd.

The interest on student loans should be determined by level of income, and some loan forgiveness in desirable sectors should be considered, and the loans should be dischargeable by bankruptcy. It's completely unfair to be saddled with a loan that you literally cannot pay off or get rid of short of leaving the country.
Clinton's plan was actually not bad. You were just required to pay a max of 10% of your income per year and they'd get discharged after 20 years if you couldn't actually manage to pay them off in full by that time.

It still disincentivizes going into a massive amount of debt for a useless degree since you'd have to pay that 10% but also doesn't trap you forever.

Personally I think pensions should be abolished completely minus for their original recipients being war veterans.
Pension plans have some tax benefits for both employer and employee, which is why I think they're still around. DC pension matching is also still an awesome benefit--you basically are still saving for your own retirement, but with pre-tax money. The only downside is that the rate of return tends to lag. I guess most people won't max out the other ways to do that (401k, etc.), but if you're making a decent chunk and your employer matches, it can be a good plan.
I'm not sure the exact relationship between "labor" and "sex work," but it's clear that some female posters are deciding to use Onlyfans, etc. as a way of avoiding work and thus being antiwork.
Sure you are--they're both basically "get rich quick" schemes that subvert the idea of "hard work=success".

"""Labor""" wants to de-individualize people's contributions so they can skate by while being mediocre and benefit from the work of people who actually make the business a success. Despite popular opinion, decent management skills are actually far more valuable and difficult to master than an individual contributor's work; especially in an environment like a retail store or a factory, where floor workers are essentially fungible. Despite another popular opinion, hard work, competence, and a good attitude as an entry level worker is usually noticed and usually results in promotion through the ranks.

Sex """work""" subverts this by showing everyone that you can start at the top floor of life just by being hot. It falsely reinforces that your ability to earn money and your ability to provide a useful skill set are not linked and that financial success is just a roll of the genetic dice. Never mind the fact that something like 98% of OnlyFans creators make less than $100 a month... never mind the fact that the reason porn actresses make so much money is that most women won't sell their soul or their reputation for a quick buck. Even at the top end, these women end up unfulfilled, drugged out and unhappy...the cost is a little steeper than Reddit's sex """workers""" would have you believe.
For most people in the world, supporting your parents and raising kids are not some unique, unfair lot in life.
Most people in the word don't live like Americans either. Even in a relatively similar country like the UK, their houses are tiny. Trust me, you don't want to live in a rice shack with paper walls with 3 generations living in the same place like they do in Japan.

Also, I think it's funny that all the "wellllll, they have a point" people have anime avatars...

Here's my overly long midwit take:

Some background since the fall of the Berlin Wall - you have had a large cadre of boomers with seemingly limitless capital, a baby boom in the developing world, every sea lane protected by Uncle Sam (and on his dime) and a global Pax Americana. Everyone can trade with everyone, anyone can go anywhere (even North Korea). Because anyone can go anywhere, developed countries started importing cheap labor from the developing world. Big business liked the cheap labour. Socialists liked the cheap votes. Wages in the West stagnated for 30 years (more in some places).

In order to facilitate trade across oceans, languages and red tape you need mega corps to cut through the bullshit and drive down prices (hence why inflation has been so low for so long). Thus, the globalization thing could only be done by those with massive amounts of capital. Normal people couldn't compete. So big businesses made bank.

Now the baby boomers are retiring. The developing world baby boom is over. Covid has ended free movement. The Americans don't give a shit anymore. The last 30 years have been very abnormal - and it's all ending.

Finally I come to this spastic anti-work subreddit - these reddit morons have a point. When the (((2008 Banking crisis))) started, the millennials who were first in the door were the first out of the door (lol get rekt). Therefore, millennials couldn't buy into the system. The governments of the world bailed out the entitled boomers, while their entitled millennial kids lost out on those first few crucial years of wealth building. And so, many of these millennials spent too much time online. And many became indoctrinated by fascists, communists and, worst of all, bronies.

When the millennials entered the workforce in the 2010s, they found many low-quality managers. These bottom-rung boomers that we hear about so often took advantage of their naïve and desperate new workers.

However, for the first time in my lifetime, the shoe is on the other foot. If a bad manager steals wages from a good employee - what's the response? Suck my dick, I'm leaving. If a globohomo mega-corp wants fire underpaid working people at Christmas - what's the response? Fuck you, fuck your mother, we're boycotting you. If Bezos wants you to work in a warehouse to breathe in the next Covid variant and takes away your piss-bottle privileges? What's the response? I've found a nice company which will let me work from home and I can look after my kids. Bye.

Now millennials have some leverage over corporates and, like hungry wolves, they are going to take as much as they can get.

Anyway, I'm sure I have missed a lot of things (cost of living, women, wokeness). I'm sure those of you, who don't have a remedial education like me, could explain the economics better.

TDLR: Reddit is very, very gay.

ACK-chually Amazon has not bled workers during the coof at all. To the contrary, a lot of twenty-somethings have traded their shitty service and food service jobs for a more stable paycheck from an Amazon warehouse. If anything, petty wage theft is even more rampant in the restaurant industry.

That’s mostly because Amazon provides stable hours. Compared to working 4-6 hour shifts in retail or food service. Well food service can either be short shifts or super long shifts both are unappealing (source worked as a banquet server at a wedding venue)

They're already making those "nazis fuck off" and "antiwork means antiwhite" type threads to find all the genuine populists and right-wingers and ban them. It's already almost complete. The beginning of the purge was only a week or two ago when someone posted that tranny thread and they banned or harassed tons of people who thought they should keep their dick out of the subreddit.

They aren't even necessarily banning right-wingers. They're banning people who the economy screwed over but don't think identity politics should take precedence over economic class. I don't think they care that a lot of blue collar jobs have workers that don't follow the PC line, but these people are too far up their own ass to realize they're being played by the people they claim to fight.

Basically these fuckers are more anti-union than they think they are, and are doing the bidding of the corpos they despise. Any time a job place introduces shit like critical race theory or "why whitey should hate themselves", it has led to a more divided workforce so unions become less effective.

The fact they are all championing the government and big business controlling medical decisions of their workers shows you how insanely anti-worker they are.

None of these fuckers would last in a real union, but it's moot because none of them bother to fucking work.

It appears they ban anyone slightly right of Pol Pot, but I could be wrong as I have only glance at the place.

What are the chances antiwork is at least partially a foreign psyop to demoralize american workers and ruin business? Imagine what a pervasive anti work sentiment could do. You'd have an absolutely ungovernable working class that feels it's entitled to incredible wealth.
