I've seen a lot of these people give the reason for their child free life being the damage human activity has done to the environment or this weird nihilistic "the world is shit!" view. Wanting to make the world a better place is a noble goal, but I have to ask why? For me, the only reason I give a shit about the environment or some shit hole on the other side of the planet is for my children and their children. It might sound cliché but children are the future and any group that pretends to care about the world whilst also wanting others not to have kids has it's head up it's own ass.

I guarantee many of these people subscribe to some childish form of solipsism they got from a video game or TV show where ultimately their experiences and feelings are the only thing that's "real". They insist life is pain and it's cruel to bring life from the void or whatever because their own lives haven't matched up to the unrealistic expectations from the media they consoom. The idea of building a better future for the generations to come is alien and threatening to them because it comes with the uncomfortable truth that one day they will die and won't be uploaded into a supercomputer to watch marvel movies for eternity.
