A couple of years ago, I made a thread on Reddit's r/childfree community, where people (who range from those who simply don't want children to full-blown child-haters) congregate to bitch about breeders. As shitty as that subreddit can be, I understand the reason for its existence. People who don't want to have children are often pestered for it and it gets frustrated. But something like, say, having a dog or a cat is just a personal preference that nobody would get bent out of shape about, right?

I've noticed in the past that people who hate cats tend to hate them, but people who say they hate dogs find them just really annoying. Of course, I wouldn't trust anyone who says they outright hate an animal unless they'd been mauled close to death.

I completely understand why people would make filters to stop having photos of dogs shoved in their faces everywhere. I also get why there's hate for dog owners who worship the things and think they can do no wrong.
Putting my bias aside, the dogfree subreddit doesn't seem crazy. I don't see any posts calling for mass cullings or anything.
The cat one has no posts as I'm writing this. I don't know how reddit works though so it might just all be hidden.
