I'm actually surprised they were spared. KIA2 is pretty similar to places like the_donald in terms of content as I recall, though it's not full blown /pol/.
I'm still surprised Killed In Action 2 hasn't been... Killed in action long ago.
From what I gathered, KiA is staying afloat by bending over to the admins and doing whatever said admins asks them, and KiA2 refuses to do so. I feel they should've attracted unwanted attentions eons ago.
They're still pretty cuckolded in terms of politics. As much as people on the left may whine and complain, GamerGate and whining about feminists in gaming is an acceptable political diversion for people to have, since they're usually willing to ghettoize themselves there and not move to other issues. It's not very threatening to the people in power.
KIA2 has a decent amount of coverage of general conservative issues, though it's centre right rather than extreme. The front page there is full of articles about academic misconduct and the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell, with barely anything about gaming.

I always thought goobergrape was a total waste of time but now it looks like a relatively reasonable place for conservative news.
KIA1 never got over the 2014 phase where they're playing by the rules of the SJWs that hate them, saying "we're not evil, it's a misunderstanding, we're actually lefties, spare us Spez/CNN/Anita, we'll prove you're mistaken and gamergate will be redeemed in the eyes of the media!" In contrast KIA2 is progressively embracing their inner /pol/lock more and more each day, having accepted long ago they're pretty much T_D lite.

I'd more describe KIA2 as an offshoot of /r/conservative. Trump doesn't seem to be a big focus there.

I genuinely thought Kotakuinaction was satire the first time I saw it on reddit.

I always wondered if KotakuInAction was always a website that indirectly gave more traffic to Kotaku, while they are currently laying off writers or losing readership. It’s always “kill both birds with one stone” with them.
