It's no secret that Reddit is infested with godless Commies. /r/Shitliberalssay, /r/Socialism, and /r/communism are just a few examples. But I think I've found the true creme of the crap: /r/LateStageCapitalism. Unlike the aforementioned subs, LSC is actually a pretty huge presence, with nearly 150,000 subscribers and counting.

Do you want to know how just how bad this sub is? On the 4th of July, a day when even staunch anti-nationalists get a little misty-eyed over 'Murica, the entire sub was filled to the brim with anti-America posts.

Oh, and how could we ever forget about the Four Pests Campaign, yet another one of Chairman Mao's great ideas?

However, the only "pest" that was actually eradicated was the sparrow. Thanks to the propaganda machine, people got caught up in the cult of communist worship and were able to kill millions of birds in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, by killing all the sparrows, they eliminated the primary predator of the locust. Without any natural predators, the locust population thrived. Grain production in most rural areas collapsed and a massive famine began. The resulting massive famine in China killed, by some estimates, 30 million people in total. The government quickly rushed in to cover up their massive mistake and replaced the sparrow with bedbugs as a threat. It took till 1978 for scholarly works to be done that were able to assess the catastrophic loss of life due to the government’s program.

Oh, and when Mao first pitched the idea of killing sparrows to his advisors, they were all like "What the fuck, that's a terrible idea, the locust population will explode and millions will starve." So Mao fired/imprisoned/tortured/killed/whatever them for being hated intellectuals (fun fact: Mao fucking despised intellectuals and is responsible for the deaths of thousands of scholars) and deliberately ignored their advice. Mao has the deaths of tens of millions of people on his hands because he was a stubborn asshole who insisted that he knew everything. But no, guys, Mao was totally a hero of the people and Communist China was a utopia.
