I’ve always been of the mind that America’s diversity has been one of it’s greatest strengths. The best of every culture and nation brought together to create something greater than any of them could have ever achieved individually. Though some cultures have clearly contributed more than others and in the case of the Romani they have remained reluctant to integrate into the American society which I hold so dear and as such I feel very little connection to that part of my heritage. As to what I prefer I couldn’t say. I’m pretty open to being friends with anyone, even filthy no good communists, depending of course upon the context and situation. I have friends from all walks of life and in varying age groups. As such I find it hard to say where I would feel more comfortable. Though I suppose a simple yes would have been the easier answer.

no no your making fair points and it was a bit of a weighty concept i dropped there and didnt explain well. think its about intergrating into being an American not a part of a hyphenated american faction. your all working under the same frame work on how things work more or less. remember if your born in any other part of the world your an outsider who lives there at a foundational level.

What Far-Left people and indeed far-left politics in general doesn't seem to get is that there is a difference between Corporatism and Capitalism. Many of the things that LateStageCapitalism cover is more indicative of Corporate America rather than a truly Lasseiz-Faire esque market. Competition leads to better products and more fairly paid workers (after all, if you're a company known for horribly paying your workers why would anybody work at your company rather than a competitor that pays more?) With monopolies, their situation seems more like a Communist/Socialist economy in general (without the Authoritarianism) as opposed to a heavily Capitalist country/free market economy.

What these people are complaining about isn't a free market economy but more of a Corporate-style economy. Of course, you shouldn't expect manchildren to know the difference between the two before bitching about a country that they've grown up and prospered in.
