Have you ever met someone who unironically gets mad over a drawing of a fictional female because of her breasts being too big? Or that she has a curvy hourglass figure? Or for the simple fact that she too pretty looking? They're most likely an active member of the subreddit /r/mendrawingwomen.
Overview
According to the subreddit's description, /r/mendrawingwomen is primarily dedicated to the discussion of "improperly drawn women" from various forms of media (video games, cartoons, anime, manga, etc). Due to its topic, the subreddit became very polarizing for all the reasons you can think of. Whether it be posting art without giving proper credit, editing art to cover their "promiscuous" clothing (similar to what Bikini Armor Battle Damage does), dishing out lukewarm criticism that ultimately boils down to "big boobs bad, pretty women bad, flat chests good, bland design good", and causing big slap fights with relatively popular artists (more on that later). It's essentially the same type of spergs you would see on sites like tumblr and Twitter seething about how a fetishist's art is too fetishy (or how a fictional character's hip size is too exaggerated), but much more centralized. It gets even worse when even the most inoffensive female designs get bashed on for the most benign reasons.
Owner & Moderators
(Since my initial post, the sub has gained a few more moderators. For the sake of simplicity, I'll only cover the owner and the original mod from before.)
As with these types of communities, one can only wonder the type of person who would moderate their group. Taking a quick glance at the owner of /r/mendrawingwomen's profile, /u/LuriemIronim (archive), you can definitely tell that they embody the stereotypical person that would get mad over cartoon characters. Even the mods of the subreddit (like bouldernozzle (archive)) are the same way.
Drama
What makes this subreddit intriguing to me was the slap fights they get themselves into. I only discovered the existence of this subreddit through the fight they had with the Twitter artist Deputy Rust. Due to the contents of his art, there were users who would consistently post his art on the sub. Of course, Rust caught wind of it when it happened. Just like any normal and sane person would do, he had a good laugh about it on Twitter. Mocking them for their poor criticism. Since Deputy Rust had a sizable following (roughly around 10k+ followers), things eventually broke into a fight that lead to the mods locking down their discord server and claiming that Rust was acting like a victim (despite him never acting as such).

There was also some drama with the Twitter user @Virescence when one of their users posted her photos onto the sub. While it is weird that they would post irl photos for a subreddit dedicated to "improperly drawn women", it was pretty funny that they would go after her over her body being "unrealistic". Some of the users are claiming that this was a troll OP but even then, it's funny how it got to this point where they're posting actual women instead of drawings.
I have a gut feeling that they're going to constantly get themselves into hot water where it'll lead to the owner shutting down the subreddit (if the sub's relevance doesn't fade away). Regardless, it's pretty hilarious to see an actual community dedicated to making the same old criticisms about fictional cartoon characters. It's only gonna get juicier from here.
