The black hoe culture on Tumblr is really hilarious, always about not giving a shit about the men they're dating because they are the victims no matter what, and always find some stupid reasons like : "I know they'll cheat on me, so imma cheat on them first". I remember a post (it's old so I can't provide a screenshot) from a hoe dating a white man saying she was oppressed by him because he got so heartbroken after she cheated on him, he wanted to break up. Even though some people actually called out this kind of shit (other WoC mind you, or else nobody cares), their presence is still strong on Tumblr, like this bitch here.
On a side note: Tumblr folks love to mix up confidence with arrogance. Now you have much of assholes who think they have to push others down to feel good about themselves. Say how much you love your skin; that's cool, you should! Say how you would never date a white man because DUH they're all racist; now you're just full of shit and you know it. I remember seeing someone say a fictional character was white washed a few months ago and going on and on about how Indians aren't white, while myth said character is based on states he has parts of sunlight woven into him and calls him unusually pale. Of course she refused to believe anyone until an actual Indian called her out and deleted all the posts and using uwu it's just my opinion as a defense. Wish I got screenshots of it all.

I went through this thread expecting it to be a bit crazy, but damn, some of these people are fucking nuts.
Regarding the whole "representation" thing, I'm going to slightly powerlevel a bit here, I'm black (specifically Jamaican) and these people honestly do more harm than good. Honestly, I have more respect for Black creators who make their own shit and just go with it because at least they're not sitting in their basement complaining that the world is unfair all day. At least they're productive and trying to make something they love because they want to. Not just to fill a quota or checklist, but because they actually care about making characters that aren't just "diverse", but good and relatable.
As for these tumblrites who miss the point? The hyprocrisy is everywhere and it only gets worse.
To get back on topic, here's what I found out what happens if you stay on tumblr too long:
Tumblr wants good representation for black people? Fine, I don't wanna see a 1920's racist Black caricatures on TV all the time...that is unless they decide to do it to themselves. Just look up people like rcdarts another Lolcow who claims to be Mexican yet draws every Mexican as a stereotypical hairy wetback. And while she's not the only artist to do this, they're are way too fucking many of them. Especially on Tumblr. Then they say you're racist for not allowing them to draw their racist art.
Tumblr wants more diverse and nuerodivergent black characters? Fine. It's all good and dandy until those characters start showing character flaws like a good story should. God forbid they aren't 100% "pure and a good cinnamon roll". Then they throw a fit about how the character is awful how the writers are racists and all that other shit. And THEN they complain that the character isn't autistic enough or isn't gay enough (and just to make this clear this isn't the same as a creator just saying a character is gay or autistic outside the story just for brownie points). AND THEN when those characters do end up in media (someone mentioned Billy from the new Power Rangers movie released last year-you know-a well-rounded character.) what happens?

Even when creators try to give them what they want, they don't appreciate it. No wonder creators just give in and don't take any risks. They're put to such high standards by these guys that the can't keep up. And all that ends up doing is discouraging people from wanting to make diverse characters...you know...THE THING THESE PEOPLE CONSTANTLY WANT. That's the main problem with tumblrites like these. They constantly complain about wanting "less-racist" media and then proceed to shoot themselves in the foot all the time.
And don't even get me started on stupid idea that anyone who's "POC" can not be racist towards anyone because they're "POC". I already saw a stupid post (I wish I archived it, but it was long before I joined the farms) on how a black person mentioned to check yourself and others around you and to not say racist things about Asian people and that despite being a grand old' "POC" you too can be a piece of shit and say racist things.
You wanna know what the first response was? How Asian people are anti-black. It's part of the culture. So it's perfectly okay to call them ching-chong or whatever.

Nothing cerebral is allowed anymore, it has to stay free of conflict so the triggered whiny babies don't shit themselves. I'm black too and I gotta admit I was happy for my brother getting some rep by Billy in Power Rangers even though my brother is more severely autistic than Billy is. My brother dressed up as Billy for Halloween last year and had a blast.
Power Rangers had LGBT+ rep too, but I didn't see a lot of celebrating that either. I screencapped a post a page back where somebody said good rep and attempts at good rep need praise to encourage more of that, and the OP in the screencap got shouted down by the whiny black babies because the OP happened to say that while being white (ofcourse).

This is exactly it. I understand that when you write a story from an outsider perspective you'll always have some nuances left out, but expecting perfect representation on the first try is pretty unrealistic.
Using your example from a couple pages back , it is desirable to have an austistic writer and actor. However, I don't think these Tumblr people know how much work goes into a production. Yeah, some production is lazy, but it still takes some work. Getting the writer would be simple enough. But getting someone autistic would be even harder.
Not only would the studio have to accommodate depending on how severe their autism is (if the person is high-functioning--not saying they can't act like any other person) but then you'd have to put your time and effort into resources to find an autistic actor. Many people are not even going to bother doing this because to them it's not worth their time. So what if the actor is autistic? What does it change? The character is still going to be autistic either way because that's how they are written and that's what matters most. It's not like plenty of non-autistic actors haven't played some autistic characters in a non-offensive light.
This isn't the same as a black character being replaced by a white character. If it was, I understand that. But to see my point even further, just imagine if you wanted to see a depressed character on TV, you had to get the actor to have depression too. It could help (or hurt), yeah. But TBH it's very miniscule imo.
To get back on topic, I found a post in which people are REEEEEing because a light-skinned actress decided to turn down a role of Black Panther to make way for more dark-skinned actors (which is appreciated). Keep in mind, from what I read, she didn't throw a bitch fit, she didn't call any dark-skinned people any names. She didn't even mention this until the hype for the movie went down. You'd think Tumblr would be great that a "light-skinned bitch" would give up a position to make way for an underrepresented group of people, right?
Of course not. I saw waaaayyy too many people getting on this woman's ass for nothing. Making awful jokes for no good reason just because she's light-skinned. And for what? She didn't take the part! You got what you wanted! Just goes to show that even if you do what you think is right to these morons, they'll insult you. So don't bother.

To revitalize the thread a bit, I'm going to post something interesting I found here.
There's a group on Tumblr (won't specifically out them here since I saw a thread on them already) that was trying to show examples of people having a race fetish. Okay, fine. I'm
many people do not like being seen as a fetish of their race (e.g. the sexy asain girl). However, here's something interesting I found. The user claimed that when they searched on Google Images for "Black Women" they specifically found these sets of images below.
They then claimed that quote, "dark = exotic, lighter = sexualized" because all the pictures in the first image had lighterskinned women in bikinis and all the dark skinned women are shown as I kid you not: "TRIBAL". Calling a dark skinned women "Tribal"...great. (Let's ignore the fact that some of those darker skinned women who are models are most likely from Africa. Let's also assume that any person in a bikini is sexualized too. Wonderful

But when I typed in "Black Women" just for curiosity's sake in Google Image: I got these set of images below:
What's the problem here? They all look like Black Women. I don't see any "light-skinned bitches" being in bikini's either. Even when I scroll down, I get nothing like that whatsoever.
Of course time does play a part in this and the user was deactivated, but even when I put "black women" in lowercase or any other variation, I got the exact same result. No sassy black women stereotype. So I got kind of suspicious and decided to try it for the other example they gave:

I remembered I went on Tumblr and Instagram and I have a friend whose a dark skinned Asian, and his family and friends always made fun of him about his dark skin and talked about skin whitening creams but he refused.
When these tumblr/instragram sjws were talking about how only white people can be racist, I countered by talking about the infamous light skin preference in Asia and the racism some dark skinned folks face there. One tumblr, they weren't answering my question but they did answer something similar, the question was about how some minorities can be racist, and they had the fucking nerve to say that it's usually because of "white people systematically oppressing them and making their beauty standards known that many minorities do racist stuff". The tumblr was called "Writingwithcolor".
Another tumblr got triggered at the mere possibility that the lost Disney princess "Kida" from Atlantis, looked like a tanned white girl. She had a bitchfit! I think she was a minority, funny I've met more "sane" minorities who actually agree that Kida looked like a tanned white girl. Jesus it's a fictional character.

Even though Tumblr and Twitter will say it's up to you to identify as whatever the fuck you wants (I believe Israel has different views on race itself and its more based on ancestry group you belong to like Ashkenazi), everything quickly called her a white girl?

Yoo, I heard of WritingwithColor. Funny enough, I will admit (though I hate to say it) when they aren't sperging about how evil white people are, they can give decent advice on avoiding stereotypes of minorities in writing. (Though even then, you have to dig through a ton of shit to get to it). But I even have to admit how bullshit that response was. There are plently of places not touched by """" evil colonizing white people"""" that have bullshit beauty standards. My Korean friend had to put up with a lot of bullshit because she's tan, doesn't want plastic surgery(which is super popular there and heavily encouraged among younger people), and is not a fucking size 2. There are plenty of countries that have bullshit standards that aren't even necessarily white people's fault. Also, lumping up a group of people in one segment and blaming them for everything. Nice to know we're repeating history again!
Also, isn't Kida just a tanned girl, isn't she? I thought she was tanned, not necessarily a minority. Glad to know that if you're slightly darker than average you have to be "POC".
