Radio fix - seeking playlists with love

Used to love the radio back in the day when it was only 99% clear channel owned. Was using Pandora but that kinda ran stale just playing the same songs over and over, Youtube is okay but I have to manually do a lot to get a good theme going.
Am I going to have to make a Spotify account just to have some non-belabored jams? It seems to have the same issue as Pandora and Youtube, where either I'm cultivating a playlist or I'm scavenging through other peoples playlists like a raccoon in the trash looking for something edible.

Now I'd be open to more good youtube playlists, but I'd really love something of a radio or mix scene, like those old blogspot's that would share zips of mp3's on ghetto servers.

Basically I'm out of music, and I'm not mentioning genre because I'm hoping to find a source with some life in it and just luck out that it's to my taste or just find anything at all.

Might as well recommend my all time favorite band, MewithoutYou...

Their style ranges quite a bit from album to album, starting off heavy, morphing into a folk-ish sound a couple albums later, and then going almost full circle by the 7th album.
But one thing that is consistent is Aaron Weiss and his remarkable song writing. Songs pull from a wide range of philosophy, theology, poetry, and historical events, and my favorite aspect of the band is how every line from every song really has been crafted in a profoundly meaningful way.

I usually refrain from recommending the band just because I know the vocal style isn't everybody's cup of tea, and I remember initially not being into it and teasing my brother for listening to them. But there were still a couple of songs I was into...

Eventually I started to really pay attention to the lyrics and that was the hook for me.

Lastly, a really cool aspect of the band is the album art. Every album cover is painted by a Russian artist named Vasily Kafanov. And it adds an awesome connection between albums. I've actually managed to buy several original pieces of art from Kafanov and they range from small, affordable pieces, to larger, auction type canvases.

Anyway, I'll refrain from fan-boying too hard. Hope you can get into the music.

Edit : I might throw in more recommendations later. I tend to listen to vastly different kinds of music depending on the day, so I enjoy the challenge of finding music people are genuinely into.

am music autist. but i personally use spotify. before that it was google play music, the best feature of those streaming services was they will auto generate new music every week and presents it to you to try and find new songs you like.
