2019 is such a dumb year because the Left and Centre-Right has managed to separate Nazi and German into two separate things. Even 20 years ago, people would have used the phrase Germans, not Nazis, to talk about the Second World War unless specifically referring to Nazis like Hitler, political officers or the SS.

Since Megan herself is German, she possibly was interested in it for cultural reasons. The 3rd Reich was very aesthetically German. There's young Russians today that admire the aesthetics of the Soviet Union that never experienced it but not the ideology because the USSR was culturally very Russian in character.

There's also the possibility that she was interested in bands like Rammstein or metal bands that used SS-esque aesthetics too partially for the shock factor.

Jordan Peterson collects art from the former Soviet Union. The ultimate individualist capitalist likes to collect communist artwork because he finds it ironic to own.

I don't think it's easy to tell what a person believes in just from the kind of artwork or trinkets they collect. Maybe the only two broad categories of people who are into collecting WW2 German stuff are people who really appreciate the history, or LARPers in skull masks. All the cool Nazis are into smug green frogs now.
That's what PC culture does. It strives to erase real history and retell it using its own narrative.

"Burn down the castle, build a church, then say it was always a church. Such is the sad law of history, it relies on the victor to be truthful. Such is the sad law of being human, we are not truthful."

The word "nazi" has as much meaning to me as "racist" or "mysoginst". They no longer have any meaning, they are just words used to bring someone down to the level the people who use it are at. I'm much more offended that people call me a liar than I am anyone ever calling me "racist" or "homophobic".

And to your point, if I wish to consume paraphernalia of a different time and culture why shouldn't I be able to do so? It's like someone calling me a communist since I like studying Mussolini as I myself am Italian. Or any other culture for that matter.

While I agree there's nothing wrong with collecting historical memorabilia, be it from Nazi Germany or the USSR. But I think there is a difference between Nazi and German. Nazism is an ideology while German is a nationality. Technically speaking we did fight the Germans in WW2, but they were Nazist Germans. I think it's important to distinguish and separate the ideology from the nationality, primarily because Germany is no longer a Nazist state. Otherwise why don't we call the modern Germans nazis?

National Socialism was the ideology of the time. People who participated in WW2, at least outside of America, referred to them as the Germans. I think it is precisely because there is an effort to distinguish Germans from WW2 era Germany that people use Nazi Nazi Nazi instead of German.

It does lead to dumb shit though like Antifa idiots praising WW2 Americans for fighting the ideology when enlisted men at the time were simply defending their country. In fact, many Americans at the time who fought Germany or Italy probably had more in common with them than modern day Antifa.

It's also a strange phrase to use historically. It would be like me referring to the French from the Napoleonic Wars as "Bonapartists". That Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia were trying to free Europe from Bonapartism.

Not to get too autistic about the technical terms, but before society became hyper political, people back in even 2000 when Megan was buying the memorabilia, it would have seen it as "German from the 3rd reich" not "Nazi".

Well Mussolini was a fascist not a communist but yeah. You'd be able to appreciate the positive aspects of your own ethnic culture, and even if it wasn't your own culture, you could still appreciate it regardless of what the regime did at the time. I'm not Japanese, but I really find WW2 Japan fascinating and the Japan leading up to it. Mention you have an interest in Japan though and people think you want a pillow of an anime girl and ask what J-pop band you like.

Ah yes, one of Christine’s many responsibilities in 1218 is to Chronicle all the goings on that has been happening for quite awhile now. In my Psychic body, she is able to draw and output Comic Pages at a much faster rate and in much better quality than before. However, due to Restraints on the Connection between our two soon-ti-be-joined worlds, she cannot deliver them until the Merge is complete. I will do my best, however in my free time to Transcribe what she writes over to this Dimension for y’all. Peace and Goodwill to all.
There, just saved Chris the hassle of making up his own excuse. I expect 12 C Quarters deposited in my bank account by noon tomorrow.

Taking one look at Chris' patreon is sickening
-no perks until you fork up 10 bucks
-calls 10 bucks the bare minimum
-10 bucks gets you a PEEK at the pages
Im not even gonna touch the fact that this shit honestly goes up to 500 dollars with perks that are suited for 20 bucks MAYBE. Holy shit

Welp, you know things are slow when we are talking about socio-politics like mature adults.

Anyway how is your sex life?
Pretty healthy, nothing to brag about but I get by.

I suppose during that time Nazi and German could be interchanged. I was replying to your comment about how "lefitsts have managed to separate Nazi from German" (or something along those lines). German and Nazi are not interchangeable at this point in time, and there for they should be separated.

Because they turned off the gas chambers.
