Anything that has sentimental value means jackshit in the end to Chris, the only thing that sentimental to him is money

See I don't know if that'll be the case. Chris never had an emotional connection to the records, or an interest in music. The C64 seems like it was something they may have enjoyed together, and that could make it more sentimental to him. Plus Chris loves vidya. Then again he could sell it tomorrow for all I know. Chris is always gonna Chris.

Well one would assume you'd be working as a wage slave if not the other option, but in doing so you'd have to give up like 1/3rd of your adult life for the daily grind.

You could say open your own business or get a job doing something you really love, but obviously that wouldn't really be an option for someone like Chris, even if he was somewhat squared away.

The effective thought experiment is... would you sacrifice dignity/respect/admiration/belonging/love in order to extend your life span by 1/3rd.

It was more than just depression for Robin though. He was dealing with some serious medical issues like Lewy body disease, and undergoing the first stages of dementia. While he did suffer from serious depression it wasn't the only factor in his suicide. Although I do agree with the basic point you're making, I'm just being pedantic.
