How does one create a mixed non-human character considering it's a human thing? This is what you people get for applying races to non-humans in the first place (coughs SU fans, for example)

It's pretty common in fiction if you count mixed species. Applying human things to a half elf half orc is pretty dumb, though.

The bitchiest girl in my class turned into an actress after leaving school (no big thing, tho, just relegated to hippie cafes). She now goes on writing exclusively in "Latinx" and thinks gendering objects is triggering.

This is so weirdly specific on how to write characters I don't even know how to describe why it made me uncomfortable. Maybe something to do with "don't make your characters half white or I'll hunt you down and eat your kneecaps"?
Like yes, mixed race people can look different. The author of the post acts like they are the only mixed race person in the world, harboring all the mixed-race secrets.
The whole post boils down to, just write a fucking character like they are a real person. Mixed or not, most people don't give a shit and aren't defined by/always talking about their race or ethnicity. If I came across a character who was always just talking about race and had no other features, I would assume the author racist.
They forgot to put "give your character traits that transcend race/ethnicity" almost like it doesn't matter, as long as you have non-white characters for woke points. Books and movies sure will be interesting in 20 or so years.
It will be the 90's Burger King Kids, but deadly serious.
