Anyone who actually does real activism is in for a giant letdown any time someone of their preferred party gets elected and, inevitably, all the fuckwads who were only in it because they hated the now-unseated President fuck off and don't do a goddamn thing for 4/8 years at least, even when the actual situation gets incredibly worse.
Look at all the fuckwads who suddenly couldn't find a single word of criticism for Obama's administration when he cracked down on journalists worse than any President in history, and that even includes Trump whose level of vitriol against the press was nearly Hitler-level. Despite him constantly slagging them off, though, he did virtually nothing actually to suppress their criticism of him, largely because it mostly benefited him.
I've seen a lot of progressives criticizing Joe Biden though, which seems like a good start. I think it's because nowadays leftism is a lot more radical, and a lot of progressives even hate Obama now from what I've seen.

I wonder how they would react if we ever got a right-wing/republican president who's black (perhaps even moreso than Obama) and/or even a woman? Would they fold the moment he/she comes into office or would they still hate on him/her as much as other right-wing presidents, pulling the old "internalized bigotry" card as justification.
