Why is it that ultimately this thread concludes it's ok to fuck with jace if deagledad likes you but he probably wont?
It's especially distressing when the "jace in the future thread" is full of posts predicting things will only be ok for jace if his life gets more normal, or posts that pretty much say jace is fucked no matter what because of his mental illness? Its ok that long after we've all forgotten about jace his life is shit because while his brother tried to pull him out of his delusions.... we pretended to be CIA officers and islamic jihadis pushing him futher down?

Not that i dont find him hilarious but there is no justifying the shit jace goes through. Youre fucking with one of the most vulnerable people you can find.

I've actually mentioned the hypocritical cycle of behaviors before and you're pretty much right. People really shouldn't poke lolcows too much; In the case of Jace, he would (probably) be more than ok to stream things and have fun, while giving everyone a laugh, that nobody really needs to fuck with him.

It's not whether or not I like you, I work with plenty of people who I really dislike as people but nobody can argue with the fact that they get shit done. It's more that it's easier to gauge whether or not a plan is a waste of time if I hear it directly from the horse's mouth. The flowchart's main purpose is to dissuade 90% of people from trying. The other 9% hit me up on Skype and say something retarded and I tell them not to bother. The remaining %1 succeed and make everyone laugh.

But you're right, it does suggest a bias, and I should probably remove it and change the flowchart entirely because even the %1 of plans which are funny aren't really funny enough to justify it. Lately, Jace has been getting less and less successful trolling, and has become better at dealing with it, but the comedy of the saga hasn't suffered for it.

I completely agree and I'm not going to lie to myself and say I'm anything less than a sociopath for being so deeply involved in this. This sounds sarcastic/disingenuous but it's not. I could bring up the fact that I've tried to make sure it hasn't gone too far, bailing him out from self-harm on multiple occasions, but that wouldn't change the fact that I've contributed to the problem.

You bring up a good point though. It's a really important issue to consider, at the risk of derailing the thread slightly. On one hand, you could argue we're merely giving him the clay and he's molding it, on the other you could argue we're enabling him to continue. But that inherent hypocricy is something you're always going to find on any lolcow forum, and it's why myg0t, gamerfood, n0chan etc, look at us and call us out on it. Because it is hypocritical.

If Jace is puking in buckets and trying to kill himself with airsoft guns, the forum will erupt in "This is too far. I hope he gets help. I really want him to get help and stop being crazy." Then, two weeks later, when he does so, the forum will be drowned in complaints of "This is fucking boring. I wish he would go back to puking in buckets and trying to kill himself. Fuck this, I'm going to go watch someone else. I'm not getting what I paid for here. This puppet is not dancing enough for my amusement." And then the cycle continues forever. Often it's the exact same posters saying these two things, never realizing that they contradict one another.

That cognitive dissonance is just a core part of lolcow communities you're never going to remove. But I think we've come pretty far despite it.
