While reddit is known for being full of dorky, socially inept guys, there is a corner full of dorky, social inept gals...beauty subs.
There are a lot of subreddits devoted to beauty, but some of the prominent ones are:
r/makeupaddiction, r/sugarfreemua, r/skincareaddiction, r/femalefashionadvice, r/RedditLaqueristas, r/AsianBeauty, r/brownbeauty, r/femalehairadvice, and r/curlyhair
There’s also r/muacirclejerk, which makes fun of r/makeupaddiction, and has a discussion sub r/muacjdiscussion, r/SCAcirclejerk, which makes fun of r/skincareaddiction, and r/ffacj, which makes fun of r/femalefashionadvice.
And r/makeuprehab, which is for people who have a truly obscene amount of makeup.
What makes them bad?
First of all, they all need to let you know that they have a BOYFRIEND that they have SEX with. There are so many posts about blowjob-proof lipsticks.
Also, they are PALE. Women on r/makeupaddiction are convinced they are albinos. They are not.
This lady clearly has a standard white person skin tone.
Another thing PALE women like to do is compare their issues finding makeup to that of darker skinned women, which comes off as very insensitive considering there is so much more makeup meant for pale women than dark ones.
They’re weird about women who don’t wear makeup.
There’s a lot of bizarre comments about how they can’t go outside the house without makeup, how they aren’t brave enough for that, etc., etc. You’d think they’d all been mauled by tigers.
Another thing they like to do is bitch about Glossier, which is a brand that makes fairly sheer makeup products.
There are some women who call themselves ‘bravangelists’ and link r/ABraThatFits in any possible situation and are just really invested in other women’s undergarments.
The other thing is they always have to mention their own boobs. And they always have a small band size with big cups. This is statistically unlikely considering the average American woman is 160 pounds, but whatever.
There's a lot of special snowflakes who hate normal clothes.
And women who are bizarrely formal all the time.
There are also a lot of posts by women who insist on being overdressed constantly and don't understand why it's weird.
There’s also chicks that think once they turn 24 they can't wear anything more than three inches above the ankle ever again.
The moderators also cause a lot of drama. Moderators on both r/skincareaddiction and r/makeupaddiction have tried to monetize the sub.
On r/skincareaddiction, they deleted a free wiki and directed people to their website. They set up an LLC and were trying to make a business out of it. It also seemed like they were recommending brands that were giving them money behind the scenes. They banned a lot of users and the reddit admins had to kick them out. (r/SubredditDrama discussion)
